From the Pastor’s Desk- Shake the Bible Tree. The Bible is God’s message and revelation to the human race, and to you and me personally. All truly great men develop a deep appreciation of God’s holy and in-spired word. Martin Luther said he studied his Bible in the same way he gathered apples. First, he shook the whole tree, which the ripest might fall. Then he shook each limb. And when he had shaken each limb, he shook each branch. And after each branch, every twig. And then he looked under every leaf. Luther admonishes us: “Search the Bible as a whole, shaking the whole tree. Read it rapidly, as you would any other book. Then shake every limb-study after every book. Then shake every branch, giving at-tention to the chapters. Then shake each twig, by a careful study of the paragraphs and sentences. And you will be rewarded if you will look un-der each leaf by searching the meaning of words.” God says, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto My sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh” (Prov.4:20-22).

All department heads please check your mailbox. Thanks.

Project 2018 is at full speed, if you haven’t made your pledge yet, or if you’ve been impressed to do more, please see the Pastor, Sis. Betty Gor-don, Bro. Rex Alleyne or any Elder to state your help. We must keep our physical plant strong and other Church related items that our Church Budget cannot cover. Your help in this area is much appreciated.
