Space technology applications act as a catalyst in socio economic development of the societies
In case of a poor country like Pakistan space technology applications assumes special significance
Pakistan possess all the elements which when exploited correctly and intelligently brings prosperity and economic benefits; large enterprising population, strong agriculture ensuring food security, rich natural and mineral resources waiting to be fully utilized, water resources, large vacant land and mountain areas etc. All areas where space technology application can contribute positively.

PAKSAT-1R LAUNCH
15
At 00:15'04, August 12th
2011 (Beijing Time),
PakSat-1R was launched
from Xichang Satellite
Launch Center (XSLC),
China aboard a Long
March 3B launch vehicle
(LM-3B or CZ-3B) and
successfully entered into
the pre-determined orbit.
16
Customer Furnished Instruments (CFIs)
Nine experimental units (4 subsystems) were flown over
PAKSAT 1R and are performing satisfactorily. These units
now have a space heritage.
The experienced gained will significantly help in developing
several more sub systems of the communication satellites.
Development work on various components/sub assemblies for
becoming part of next communication satellites continues in

The Challenge and the Tasks
Education and Awareness Program
Space Observatories:
Efforts are in hand for establishing two National Observatories, one in South and other in North for study of the space. The Observatories will be open to all Universities for studies and research work. In the meantime free available data from international sources is being sourced for use by researchers, in SUPARCO & Universities
