Passport to Pamper
TMPamper the ProviderYou’re Invited to our 26th Annual
Conference
Conference Saturday, September 24, 2016
St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention CenterLocated on the edge of the Mississippi River in scenic, downtown St. Cloud
Please join us at our 26th Annual Pamper the Provider Conference. We love having this opportunity each year to focus on you and the wonderful work you do with not only the children in your care, but all that you do for your own families.
Start the day learning with Dina Rose’s keynote “It’s Not About the Broccoli!” Then choose from a variety of breakout sessions. You’ll also want to squeeze in some time for a relaxing lunch, one or two pampering activities and shopping with our many vendors.
Our goal is for you to leave feeling pampered, celebrated, and rejuvenated. And our staff plans to do all that we can to make that happen. See you in September!
Sincerely,
Gail Birch, CEO
Pamper the Provider
Passport to Pamper!
KEYNOTE Dina RosePresenting
It’s Not About the BroccoliMore and more the task of teaching children to eat right is falling to the child care providers. Not only does that mean that you have to fit an extra task into an already crowded
day, but you also have the added challenge of trying to coordinate your efforts with strategies parents are using at home. How many times have you seen children try new food with you, but refuse to eat them at home? Or had parents ask you what they can do to improve how their children eat?Dina Rose introduces an innovative approach to teaching eating habits that others have called “transformational.” You’ll learn why knowing about nutrition isn’t enough, how families inadvertently produce (and reproduce) bad eating habits in early childhood, and practical changes child care providers can make to teach children to eat right. It’s all based on the latest research and delivered in a way that is clear, interesting, and immediately practical.

CDA: Maintaining Professionalism

A. Play, Passion and Professionalism- Where are You? - Play, passion, and professionalism are all critical elements of early childhood. Unfortunately, when put through the daily grind of early care and education, these elements can get pushed to the wayside. It’s time to relcaim your passion and get serious about play. B. Avoid Pizza-Pasta-Nugget-Hot Dog with Three Simple Habits - Most young children attend day care or preschool, where they consume up to 3/4 of their daily calories and nutrients. Sadly, 1 in 3 children is overweight or obese. Experts argree that prevention must start before children turn 5. But teaching kids to eat right is harder than providing healthy food. How do you get children to move beyond a “child-friendly’ diet? Building on the morning keynote, this workshop covers practical, research-based techniques that providers can use to create a fun and positive healthy eating environment that connects to common curriculum areas and activities already being used in child care. Presented by Dina Rose. Credit is pending

H. Bridging Child Care and Home: Getting Parents OnBoard - Parents and early childhood educators don’t always agree on how to teach children healthy eating habits. Indeed, parents sometimes even seem resistant to efforts by providers. This session will change that. Building on the morning workshop, this session will show how shifting from nutrition-based approach to a habits-based approach, will enable providers to bring parents onboard. We will cover talking points for discussing healthy eating habits with parents, and techniques for building collaborative strategies and solutions so all children succeed. Presented by Dina Rose. Credit is pending.
