Parts of the lathe Machine
Function of the parts
Norton box
It controls speed.
Spindle Speed Selector
It serves to select derailleurs.
Splindle (With Chuck)
It serves to hold the workpiece.
Turret tool holder
It serves to fix cutting bits.
Carriage
It used for mounting and moving of most the cutting tools.
Fixed Point
It serves to center the pieces.
Tailstock
It fits internal shapes of the bed and can slide to any position of the blade to accommodate the length of the workpiece .
Bed
It serves as a support tool holder turret.
Lead Screw
It serves as guide to the turret tool holder.
Split-Nut Control
When closed around the lead screw, the carriage is driven along.
Apron
It serves to move the transverse and longitudinal carriage.
