INTRODUCTION TO PRONOUNS
A noun is a person, place, thing or idea. A pronoun is a word that can be used in place
of a noun.
E.g. Johnny got up, then Johnny had breakfast, Johnny ate idli. Johnny was running late for work so Johnny had to run. Johnny got to the office just in time but Johnny was very hot. Johnny sat at Johnny’s desk and switched on Johnny’s computer.
Johnny got up, then he had breakfast, he ate idli. He was running late for work so he had to run. Johnny got to the office just in time but he was very hot. He sat at his desk and switched on his computer.
PRONOUNS
A pronoun is a word that can be used in place of a noun.
A personal pronoun is a noun that can be used in place of a noun that is a person or a thing.
Personal pronouns for people=
I you he she we they
me you him her us them
Pronouns for things = itthey them
SINGULAR AND PLURAL PRONOUNS
The singular personal pronouns (talking about one thing) are:
I/me, he/him she/her, it, you
The plural personal pronouns (talking about more than one thing) are:
We/us, they/them, you
Subjective pronouns(the subject of a sentence, e.g. I ran)
Objective pronouns(not the subject of the sentence) e.g. I gave her a gift.
Possessive pronouns(when the person/thing is in a possessive state)e.g. That biryani is mine, not yours.

SUBJECTIVE PRONOUNS
I, you, he, she, we, it, you and they
A subjective pronoun acts as the subject of a sentence—it performs the action of the verb.
He spends ages looking out of the window.
