The trend is heading towards thinner and thinner wafers with an expo- nentially greater risk of breaka- ge; in future, the current thik- kness of up to 240 μm will be reduced to just 100 μm. Producing wafer-based solar cells more reliably, more gently and more quickly: regardless of whether it concerns the clean- ing of the wafer surface, con- tact by means of a silk screen or inspection/testing and sort- ing, the automation technology from Festo guarantees all three of these improvements. … of chemicals on the PSG etching line:CPV valve terminals from Festo controldiaphragm valves by our partner, GEMÜ.The diaphragm valves control the flowof the chemicals which etch away theundesirable PSG (phosphorous silicateglass) at this particular production sta-tion.

… on the transport line is guaranteed by this MS4-type maintenance unit with modular configuration.In this way, the air conditioning for this transportline can be adapted to the individual system struc-ture and the necessary compressed air quality.The effect: maximum process reliability from theoutset.
