Personification- Giving human qualities or actions to something that is not human.

Example- The trees waved goodbye as our school bus passed by.

Non Example- The trees swayed in the wind.

The author is trying to say that the geese are flying south and honking. When he says they will dress him, he means he will use their feathers in his winter jacket.

We can also personify objects that are not human by giving them human qualities.
