ABOUT NIRMA UNIVERSITY
Nirma University is one of India’s leading universities based in
Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The University was established in the year
2003 as a Statutory University under a special act passed by the
Gujarat State Legislative Assembly. It is recognized by the University
Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2 (f) of the UGC Act. The
University is duly accredited ‘A’ by National Assessment and
Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University is a member of
Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Association of

ABOUT INSTITUTE OF LAW
Institute of Law was set up under the aegis of Nirma University in the
year 2007 with a vision to promote excellence in the field of legal
education and to fulfill the ever increasing demand of quality legal
professionals for a growing legal world. In a short span of time Institute
of Law, Nirma University (ILNU) marked its distinct place in the legal
education map of the country. At present ILNU offers B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.),
B.Com.,LL.B.(Hons.) – five year integrated programmes, one year LL.M.
programme in different areas and Doctoral programme leading to
Ph.D. Institute of Law, Nirma University received “Institutional
Excellence Award” by The Society of Indian Law Firms (SILF) on 7th
September, 2012 and recently also Institute received “National Legal
Awards 2015” in Excellence in Industry Interface in Legal Education by
CMAI Association of India in support of Ministry of Law and Justice,
Government of India on 20th June, 2015.

G U I D E L I N E S
Papers (theoretical/empirical) should pertain to the above theme or sub-themes. Papers should be submitted in Times New Roman font, size 12 with double linespacing, should not exceed 5000 words, including tables and figures. The papershould be accompanied by an abstract of 150 words. Abstracts of papers, ifreceived within the deadline, will be published in the Book of Abstracts.All references and citation mode for the Conference paper shall be as per theBluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, 19th Edition.Submission should include separate Title Page which clearly indicates the name(s)of the author(s), complete mailing address (es), Telephone No. and e-mail address(es)The text of the full paper and abstract must include title of the paper, but must notinclude the name(s) of the author(s) as the papers will be blind reviewed.Co-authorship up to two are allowed with separate registration.Only original unpublished work is sought. Papers will be screened by a committee of experts and only those approved will beaccepted. The ISV will retain exclusive rights to publish all the papers accepted forpresentation as Conference Proceedings. Papers and Abstracts shall be e-mailed [email protected] as attachment.

This will be the highest Award given by the ISV and is presented in honor of one of the pioneers in
the field of Victimology in India, Professor K.Chockalingam. The award will carry a plaque,
certificate, and a citation.
It will be presented every two years to a person who has made a significant contribution in the field
of victimology in India.
Nominations in writing by a member of the ISV in good standing with full details of the
contributions of the nominee can be sent to the General Secretary of the ISV. No self nominations
are accepted.
The nominee for this award should not hold any office/position in the management of the
ISVduring the period of nomination.
The General Secretary will place all nominations received within the deadline before the Awards
Committee, constituted by the Executive Committee of the ISV.
The recommendations of the Awards Committee may be approved by the Executive Committee of
the ISV. The decision of the Executive Committee is FINAL.
The awardee will be intimated the decision of the Executive Committee of the ISV and he/she will be
requested to be present to receive the award during the inaugural function of the Biennial
Conference of the ISV.
If the Awards Committee feels that there is none in its wisdom deserving the award in a particular
year, it has the right to decide accordingly.

(i). This Fellowship Award is given to deserving individuals to recognize their significant contribution
for the growth and development of the ISV.
(ii). The Executive Committee of the ISVwill decide upon the Award. (iii). It will be signed by the
President and the General Secretary.
(iv). Nominations for this Fellowship must be made in writing to the President and that too from a
member in good standing of the ISV.
The nominations for the above two awards AND THE REQUIREMENTS FOR BEST PAPER AWARD are to
be sent to the General Secretary both by post and by e-mail on or before 27th January, 2017.

This Award will be presented to a researcher below the age of 30 for his/her original research inthe field of Victimology.i. The research paper should be the outcome of an original empirical research on a subject ofcurrent relevance in Victimology and victim assistance.ii. The research work should have been currently completed.iii. Aparticipant can only send one paper for consideration.iv. For technical reasons, papers with joint authorship will not be permitted.v. Papers should be typed only on one side of A-4 size bond paper, with double line spacingleaving adequate margins on all sides.vi. Name of the author should be given in separate sheet and it should not be typed anywhere elsein the body of the paper.vii. The author of the paper should submit a bonafide certificate from the institution where he/sheis studying.viii. The author should also submit a Declaration that the research is an original work done byhim/her and did not form a part of thesis/dissertation for the award of any degree/diploma or anyother award or prizes.ix. Two copies of the paper in about 5000 words, along with the abstract of about 150 words,should be submitted before the deadline.x. An expert committee will scrutinize the papers received for the competition and will choose thebest among them.xi. The prize winner will be intimated the decision of the Executive Committee of the ISV andhe/she will be requested to be present for the conference and make a presentation of his/her paperand then receive the award.
