Part V: Focus on the Patient and the Echocardiographic Product For successful CQIto begin and be sustained, at- tention should always be focused on the patient and the resulting echocardiographic product (study and interpretation). 1. Patients are entitled to correct and complete diagnoses, compassionate attention, and prompt and reliable service. 2. The echocardiographic product should be under constant review. Viewing the echocar- diographic study as a work product (the con- duct of the procedure from beginning to end, the accuracy and consistency of results) is always helpful in understanding the CQI process. Patients and echocardiographic products always have complex interrelationships that should be as- sessed and studied during CQL Part VI: References and Notes 1.
