Studying horticulture at Shuttleworth College has been pretty life-changing for me – I went from gaining a degree in traditional Chinesemedicine to working with plants at one of Britain’s largest historicalgardens! The skills I’m learning are benefiting my work and I put theminto practice every day, both the theory and practical.

At the start of my course I was pretty nervous about returning to education, but I settled in very quickly and a lot of ithad to do with the really nice atmosphere here between tutors and students – in fact I’ve made some really good friendsalready. The course has given me real confidence about going back to work and juggling the work-life balance.
