Our Father This week Pastor Ken started a new series called Living on a Prayer. We will look together at a prayer that we can live our life by. It is the pattern that Jesus gave us known as The Lord’s Prayer. So gather some friends or family or go through these points alone each week and let’s grow together. This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.” Matthew 6:9-13 1. When you are connected to Jesus, He shares the relationship that He has with His Father with you (read John 2:12). 2. Maybe when you hear the word “father” you only feel pain or hurt because of the wounds you received from your earthly father. But if you will trust the Father, He can heal your pain or hurts and show you what a good father is like (read James 1:17). If you had a good earthly father, then thank God for that. 3. The Father is way above us and He is greater than any mountain of a problem in your life. At the same time, He is very close to you, as close as the very air that you breathe (read Psalm 139:5). 4. If you have been hurt from your earthly father or you have a mountain of a problem that you are dealing with right now, bring that to God, your Heavenly Father, and give it to Him (read John 14:13).
