Ensuring every individual achieves their best through high expectations for all;
with a focus on confidence, creativity, care and aspiration. 20th April 2020
✩✩✩✩ Stars of the Week ✩✩✩✩
Thank you for continuing to share with us the
reasons why your children have been little stars at
home.
Amarah (Edison) has been amazing during this
difficult time for many reasons including helping out
our elderly neighbour with his groceries, not
complaining about not being able to go out, and
spending lots of time with her baby sister.
Aidan (Aldrin) has been a superstar because he has
been so lovely with his little brother, reading to him,
playing games with him and cheering him up when
he is upset.
Nikol (Einstein) has been a superstar because she
has been entertaining her family singing My Heart
Will Go On.
This young lady in Reception has been a
superstar because of the care she has
shown towards her brother and for being
attentive in her home learning.
Dylan (Aldrin) and Nathan (Attenborough) have
been superstars because they have been trying
really hard with all the work that has been set for
them; they have been very creative and they have
been doing their very best to play together.
Henry (Attenborough) has demonstrated what a star
he is by reading stories to his mummy every day and
being kind to her because she has been a little bit
poorly.
All of You! We know that having to stay at home
and being away from your friends and teachers is
really challenging yet you are all continuing to do
your best and trying hard to make the most of the
situation. We all really miss you and your families.
We’re very proud of you all.

New - Online Park Assembly We are really excited to be sharing an online
assembly with you every
Friday (during term time)
at 10:00am beginning this
week, Friday 24th April.
The assembly will be
accessed via our Park
Primary Home Learning
channel on YouTube and
we will be sure to send a
link out via ClassDojo to remind you nearer the time.
There will be contributions from lots of familiar
faces, including Mrs Ttoffali, so why don’t you sit
down together with your family at 10:00am and
know that the whole of our Park community are
joining together, even if we aren’t in the same room.

Lots of New Additions to the Park Family Last week, we were very excited
to receive the list of children
who will be joining us in
Reception in September. We will
be contacting their families in
due course to welcome them to Park and to outline
the admissions arrangements as we plan the best
way to welcome the children to Park in the current
circumstances.

A Much Smaller New Addition to Park We are thrilled that there has been
another new addition to the Park family
over the holiday. Ms Sherriff’s son, Hamza,
was born on 14th April.
Congratulations to Tahirah and her family
from all of us at Park.

Park’s Home Learning Channel
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our
Home Learning Channel to date, whether that be in
school or from home. We have loved to see your
creations. If you haven’t yet taken a look, please do
so; this is what you’re missing. Even if you don’t take
part, it’s lovely to see some familiar faces (including
one from New Zealand)!

P.E. with Joe Many of our children and teachers
at home, and those in school, have
continued to enjoy the workouts
from Joe Wicks. On Friday last week,
they once again joined in with the
fancy dress challenge. We’d love to
see you joining in at home if you’d like to share the
photos with us ([email protected]).

Park Staff’s Book Club You may or may
not be aware
that the staff at
Park Primary
have a book club
who meet every
month. For the
duration of the
lockdown, the staff have moved their
meetings online. In their most recent
meeting, they discussed the book,
Me and Mister P by Maria Farrer.
They really enjoyed the book and
would highly recommend it. Follow
this link to find out more about the
book

Park Reads There are currently 19
stories on the Park Reads
page of our website and we
are continuing to add a new
one every other day. _________________________________
Home Learning Gallery This week’s home learning gallery includes lots of
creative holiday tasks. Once again, we have received
lots of photos and pieces of work so we will
continue to share a selection with you.

This week… Thunks to get you Thinking!
Key Stage 1 Thunk
Key Stage 2 Thunk
Thought for the Week
Learning Power Focus
This month we are focusing on being a ‘Go
for it Gorilla’. The Go for it Gorilla reminds
us to have a go. See if you can demonstrate
the following whilst you are learning at
home to show you are a Go for it Gorilla:
- using the language, “I can’t do it yet.”;
- having a Growth Mindset; - trying things without
support; - not worrying about making
mistakes; - learning from our mistakes; - and being excited to try new things.
Current Affairs
Little Park & Reception: Where do you and your family like to
travel to?
KS1 & KS2: Do we think people will travel less in the future?
New figures revealed on the 7th April by the
Department of Transport show that only a very small
proportion of people in the UK are still travelling
during the lockdown period that the government
have imposed during the COVID-19 outbreak. Visits
to shops, museums and cafes in the UK have fallen
by 85% since the coronavirus outbreak, according to
data shared by Google. The government has
supported Google in using data in this way.
Things to talk about at home…
● Have you used technology to communicate
with friends or family outside of your home?
If so, do you think you will continue to use
this after the lockdown period has ended?
● What changes have your family made to
reduce the amount you leave your home? Do
you think you will continue with any when
the restrictions are lifted?
