May 26, 2019 - 6th Sunday of Easter “…do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27) Our limited human understanding cannot begin to understand the immense power of God. Instead of trusting in God, we think we can control every out-come. Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans. The next time worry, anxiety or fear creeps in, thank God for all He has given you and trust that He has a better plan for you. ______________________________________________________________

Reflecting on the Word – (John 14-23-29) As Jesus prepares his followers for his leaving, he tells them that they will not be alone. Not only will the Father and Jesus come to those who keep his word, but also the Holy Spirit will teach and remind them of what Jesus told them while on earth. Jesus assures these disciples that the peace he gives them will continue to be theirs. Finally, he assures them that he will return. Are you able to turn your anxieties over to God? _______________________________________________________________

Food for Thought Stop beating yourself up; you are a work in progress. God is not finished with

you yet! ____________________________________________________

STOP INFANTICIDE! Some states are proposing laws to expand abortion AND to repeal laws providing specific protections for babies born alive after surviv-ing an attempted abortion. (In a successful abortion, the life of the baby in the womb is ended and this is never morally acceptable. We continue to promote laws to protect babies in the womb). A particular piece of legislation – The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protec-tion Act (S.311 / H.R. 962), would provide protections nationwide to help prevent newborns from being killed or being left alone to die. Sadly, the United States has failed to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S.311 / H.R. 962) which protects babies who survive an attempted abortion from infanticide. But there is still hope for this bill. If the US House of Representatives passes the bill, it would put significant pressure on Senators who voted against the bill to reconsider their vote. Tell your US Representatives that ALL new born babies deserve care & a chance for life! Please Take Action Now: Tell Congress we need stronger laws to protect babies who survive abortion and are born alive. Text ALIVE to 50457 or visit: www.babiesbonalive.com. You will receive a reply to the text with a link with a prepared message, you will enter your information and hit “send.” It only takes 2 minutes. _______________________________________________________

‘Tis the Season While the Church never imposes a dress code, it must be remem-bered that this is God’s house and we should dress appropriately. Men do not wear shorts or t-shirts at Mass. It is also not appropriate for women to dress immodestly.

May we remind you that strapless tops should never be worn; shoul-ders should always be covered. Men must never wear a hat or cap while women are allowed to wear something covering their heads. No one should wear sunglasses in the church unless for health rea-sons. Let us give our Lord the respect he deserves. Thank you!
