June 3rd 2018
We are a Eucharistic community, finding strength in Jesus and His Church by living both Word and Sacrament. We minister to the needs of the People of God through Worship and living out the Gospel and the Teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
Baptisms are usually celebrated on the last Sunday of the Month. In preparation, parents are asked to complete one class. Contact Deacon Bob Digan through the rectory (243-0275) if you want to begin the process.
Mass is celebrated according to the schedule on page 2. Join us for the sacrament most holy!
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Monday - Friday 6 AM - 12 Midnight | Saturday - Sunday - 9 AM -12 Midnight
The Sacrament of Reconciliation & The Anointing of the
Sick is offered every Saturday from 3:00-3:45 in the confessional room at St. Mary’s, Lee. - The first full weekend of the Month) confessions are heard before Mass in Stockbridge & Otis. These sacraments may be received any time by appointment. Make use of these sacraments of healing!
Communion to the Sick or Homebound: Kindly inform the Parish Office if you or someone you know would like a
visit at home or to the nursing home. You’ve come to church for all those years, now let us bring church to
you.
Marriage: Congratulations to our newly engaged. Please
contact the rectory to begin the process of preparing for this great sacrament of service. Marriage prepara-tion can take up to a year. God’s grace lasts all the days of your life.
Holy Orders: If you feel the call to religious life or a voca-tion to the diaconate, priesthood or religious life, con-tact Fr. Brian at the rectory. Diaconate preparations for the next class are beginning soon. Fr. Michael Wood and Fr. Matt Alcombright

WHY ARE CHRISTIANS ASKED TO EVANGELIZE or TEACH
CCD?
Before Jesus as-
cended to Heaven, He in-
structed His disciples, “Go
into the whole world and
proclaim the gospel to every
creature” (Mark 16:15). The
Gospel, or “good news,” to which Jesus referred is His
Resurrection and victory over death. God became
man and died for our sins, then rose from the dead.
Thanks to Jesus, we have hope for a new life
on Earth and eternal life in Heaven if we follow
Him. “There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is
there any other name under heaven given to the hu-
man race by which we are to be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Think of it another way: If you discovered a way to
eliminate hunger in the
world or found a medi-
cine to cure all diseases,
you would want to share
what you know with eve-
ryone who will listen. Je-
sus’ death and Resurrec-
tion offers something
more amazing: eternal life. Once we have heard and
believed the Good News, we can’t keep it to our-
selves. We must tell everyone about it. Thank you for
considering to help and by calling Kate - at
413-329-1983 or email her at [email protected]
ATTENTION TO: all families with children from Kindergar-
ten through 11th grade, don’t forget to register for
next year. Contact Kate Murray at the phone number
or email address above.
The Annual Global Rosary Relay For Priests
Pray The Rosary, unite with your country, and help encircle
the world in prayer. Pray on this day in Thanksgiving to
God for our priests and to implore the protection and loving
care of Our Lady for all her priestly sons.
Friday June 8 from
5:00 pm to 5:30 pm In the grotto
behind St. Mary’s Church
(bring a lawn chair)
(inclement weather moves this
inside the church).
We will also be praying The Holy Rosary on August 15, Septem-ber 8 and October 7. (Information on each will be in the bulletin).
IN NEED OF A CAR: For our new seminarian Stan Achu, he will need a car, to do his ministries and hospital visits..
Does any one have a car that you could lend to him for months of June and July or is there one that we may buy for him? Call the rectory 243-0275 with any questions or answers to these questions. Thank you….
CD/RADIO PLAYER: Are there two out there either in stor-age or not being used. We need them for both St. Jo-seph’s and St. Mary’s in Otis; that can used during con-fessions on Saturday/Sunday’s prior to Mass…
FULL DELICIOUS BREAKFAST AT SMS - JUNE 3rd at 9AM - proceeds are for Our Lady’s Oratory; if you are an adorer [present/or past] your ticket is free - otherwise the cost is $10pp. This breakfast is open to the public. HOW IS GOD STRETCHING YOU?: In a reading earlier this week, Jesus says, "There is no one who has given up home, brothers or sisters, mother or father, children or property, for me and for the Gospel who will not receive in this present age a hundred times more...." Do you be-lieve that God is more generous than you could ever be? As Christians, whenever we hold back from being gener-ous, it's probably because we're afraid that God is not
going to be generous to us. We all wrestle with ourselves. The editor of Good News Ministries writes: In August of 2009 when I hired the first employee for Good News Ministries, I was both ex-cited about it and nervous. In my heart, I knew I could trust God to keep providing the extra funding this would require. But would more donors be willing to serve God by helping me with this added expense? The following December, during our annual fundraising appeal, one of my readers offered to completely sponsor that staff member's salary. Praise the Lord!....And the lesson keeps growing: Since then, the staff has multiplied and God has continued to provide support for personnel, equipment, and office space through the generosity of readers who champion the difference we are making in people's hearts for the Kingdom of God. Our motto is: Jesus leads,
Grace provides. Does this mean it's become easy for me to trust God? Not at all! God keeps stretching me as Good News Ministries continues to grow and our outreach continues to expand and our technology tools continue to need support and upgrades. What distrust or worry has God asked you to give up? All letting go is hard. The root reason is this: We're afraid that God won't replace what we lose, yet he wants to give us even more! Or else we're insisting that we get back what we've lost, while God wants us to fill that hole with new, different blessings. I began to learn this in the early 1980s when I was the leader of a prayer group and the editor of the monthly Charismatic Renewal newsletter for my diocese.
God wanted me to give up both ministries so that I could take better care of myself during my second pregnancy, but that didn't make sense, because no one else in the prayer group was willing to lead and no one at the news-letter had the editorial skills that I had. After weeks of re-fusing to believe that God really did want me to quit, I noticed that the problems created by my not quitting were getting larger. I decided to trust God's advice. As a result, my new-found free time evolved into writing articles that were published in Christian maga-zines. Just as I'd expected, the prayer group fell apart, but something new and better grew up in its place. And God sent a new editor to the newsletter who did a better job than I had done. We need Spirit-filled discernment to identify what God wants us to give up when it's time to let go of it. Then
we must trust Jesus as we accept the changes. Such trust always rewards us with new adventures, new paths, new friends, new ministries, and new blessings that are a hun-dred times better than what we've given up…
THREE WAYS TO SHARE GOD’S LOVE: Christians know
that our most important task is to share God’s love
with others. Finding ways to communicate love in a
fallen world can be tricky, however. Try these strate-
gies:
“And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but
kindly to everyone, an apt teacher, forbearing,” (2
Timothy 2:24). Does someone have a need you can
meet? Can others benefit from your knowledge or tal-
ents? Show love by cheerfully jumping to help those
around you.
“The ill-tempered stir up strife, but the patient settle
disputes” (Proverbs 15:18). It’s hard to show love for
others if we are fighting with them. When tempted to
get involved in a spat, ask if winning will strengthen a
relationship, lead to a better outcome, and if the issue
is meaningful or important. If not, try to compromise or
walk away.
“Bless the Lord, my soul; and do not forget all his
gifts” (Psalm 103:2). When we are constantly aware of
God’s love, our natural response is to offer up our
voices to praise him
TAKE A NEW LOOK AT THE MASS: “Mass is the same
every week. I don’t always get something out of go-
ing.” Sound familiar? A ritual we know so well can
seem predictable or even routine. Consider these gifts
you get from attending Mass:
Open your mind to something new. Within the Mass
are lots of intriguing, mysterious, or just plain interesting
ideas. Listen during the Scripture readings, the homily,
or the Eucharistic prayer for something that strikes you
and talk with God about it. He’ll help open your mind
to something new.
Help others without leaving your seat. We all know
people near and far we would like to help. Distances
and barriers disappear at Mass. When Jesus becomes
present in the Eucharist, the entire Body of Christ is pre-
sent. So you can pray for anyone you would like to
support and the entire Body prays with you.
Make a change. Find at least one idea within the
Mass that makes sense and seems possible and put it
into practice. One new idea can change your life.

The Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ
TAG/CRAFT SALE for the ROOF: A huge thank you to Cindy Giovine, Denise Scheurer, Karen Lrhazi and Donna Abbott for all the work on setting up and manning the sale tables. Many wonderful items were donated. Most of what was not sold; will be held for the Founders Day Tag/Craft Sale and Hollywood Squares at SMS Bazaar. Donations totaled $343.00. We also want to thank the other vendors that come and helped support us. Next time we will advertise more and we are now aware that Founders Day events are when people hang around; as opposed to this last weekend it was parade and off to the BBQ’s that were already planned. Another big thank you to everyone…
UPDATE: We are now progressing toward a summer replacement of the roof. We are giving the contractor a window of op-portunity that starts when school gets out on June 8th, till two weeks before school starts up again in August. In the mean-time we are continuing to fundraise. Thanks to all who have sent in individual donations. Thanks also to Fr. Daniel and Com-munity Life Commission for the wonderful Polish Dinner. We are also working on grant applications and some large donors. … together let us raise the roof! DONATING: There are three ways to donate: 1) go to the school website and click on the Donate button, 2) put a check or cash in the St. Mary’s School envelope (marked ‘School Roof’) in your weekly packets, 3) send a direct contribution by mail
with a note indicating it is for the School Roof. Every little bit helps.
WHY DO WE ASK THE SAINTS TO PRAY FOR US? The saints’ prayers for us are called “intercessory prayers.” Asking the saints to pray for us is “good and pleasing to God” and is encouraged in Scripture: “I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and
thanksgivings be offered” (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Intercessory prayer is powerful: by it, the saints help us on earth and we help those in Purgatory. Our prayers are joined to the prayers of Christ, who “never ceases to intercede for us” (Catechism of the
Catholic Church, #2741). watch over us and protect us and call down God’s grace from heaven.
VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WATER: Lynda Newton has once again taken over as “Captain of the flowers beds” around the church. She has two volunteers who have stepped forward to help her water. If you are interest let us know... By calling Lynda or the rectory at 243-0275
WORLDWIDE MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER: "Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in abundance on more and more people may cause the thanksgiving to overflow for the glory of God." Learn what graces God bestows on your marriage by attending a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend. The next Weekends are September 15-16, 2018 in Medway, Massachusetts and December 7-9, 2018 - in Duxbury, MA. For more information, call Stephen & Michelle O'Leary at 800-710-9963 or visit them athttps://wwmema.org/.
Pray - “Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to place all my trust in You and to
believe in Your promises of blessings for my life. I want to be faithful to You,
both in joy and in hardships. Amen.”
ORATORY NEWS
BREAKFAST ON JUNE 3 - FREE ALL ADORERS - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FOR $10PP: Fr. Brian is hosting all Adorers for a Com-munion Breakfast. 9:00 am on June 3rd up at the school. This is a thank-you for your wonderful ministry of prayer and worship. We invite everyone in the parish to join in this festive breakfast. Tickets are available at the rectory. OUR ORATORY: A Eucharistic Adoration chapel is a place of deep reverence towards God. Silence is the traditional behavior in Adoration. One should genuflect, kneel, or bow before our Eucharistic Lord. These are important ways to express our outward respect to our Lord. There are many ways to adore Christ inwardly during your holy hour of prayer. One good way is to let the Holy Spirit guide you in this manner. You may find it easier to focus your holy hour on the greatest commandment. Jesus states that the fist and greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. You may want to follow these practices:
Love God with all your heart: Spend some quiet time just thanking God and meditating on the goodness, blessings, and love God has shown you. Pour your heart out to God with love and humility. This will help strengthen the bond of your personal relationship with Christ.
Love God with all your soul: Take time to communicate your intentions before God. Your holy hour is a beau-
tiful time to pray the rosary, chaplet of the Divine Mercy, or just a sincere prayer in your heart.
Love God with your entire mind: A holy hour is a good time to meditate and reflect on God’s Holy Word in the Bible. The adoration chapel also has a collection of various spiritual books that can draw you closer to God.
Love God with all your Strength: Commit to an hour with God at least once a week. This takes a lot of
strength of spirit, because there are so many demands and temptations in today’s busy world that pull us in many other directions. By spending time with Jesus brings us great spiritual rewards. What could be more impor-tant than being alone with God?
