PARISH MISSION STATEMENT We, the parishioners of Holy Innocents Parish, rooted in and flowing from a deep love of God and neighbor, and nourished by the Eucharist, pledge to live, proclaim, and give witness to the Gospel of Jesus. Holy Innocents Parish, a multi-cultural community of communities, through the richness of our faith and the diversity of our gifts, is committed to making Jesus’ vision, “that all may be one” a reality.

PARISH REGISTRATION We warmly welcome all who have recently moved into our parish neighborhood. We invite you to contact the parish in order to register and receive information about our Church. If you are not receiving mailings from the parish, you are probably not registered yet. Please notify the rectory if you changed your address, phone number, or if you are moving from the parish. Thank you.

BAPTISM The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated at 1:30 PM on the Second Sunday of the month in Spanish and the Third Sunday of the month in English. Parents need to contact the rectory to set up an appointment to make arrangements for the baptism of their child and register for the baptismal class which is held the First Tuesday of each month in Spanish and the Second Tuesday of each month in English. Baptisms in Vietnamese can be arranged by contacting Fr. Vincent.

MATRIMONY Couples planning to be married should contact one of the priests at their earliest convenience but no less than six months before the wedding.

CARE OF THE SICK Please notify the rectory when someone is seriously ill or in the hospital. We will put them on the prayer list. Arrangements can be made for visits and reception of the sacraments.

EL BAUTISMO El sacramento del Bautismo es celebrado a la 1:30 PM cada Segundo domingo del mes en español y cada tercer domingo del mes en Inglés. Los padres del niño/a deben pedir una cita con la rectoría para ponerse de acuerdo con requisitos para el bautismo y también inscribirse para la charla pre bautismal que se lleva acabo cada primer martes del mes en español y cada segundo martes del mes en ingles. Los bautismos en vietnamita pueden ser arreglados con el Padre Vicente.

MATRIMONIO Parejas planeando en casarse deben comunicarse con uno de los sacerdotes de la parroquia lo mas pronto possible, no menos de 6 meses antes de la boda.

CUIDADO A LOS ENFERMOS Por favor notifique a la rectoria cuando se encuentre alguien criticamente emfermo o en el hospital. Los pondremos en la lista de oracion en la misa. Se puede pedir visitas en la casa y hospital y tambien la recepcion de los dacramentos. BÍ TÍCH RỬA TỘI Bí Tích Rửa Tội được cử hành lúc 01:30 chiều vào Chúa Nhật thứ hai trong tháng cho người Tây Ban Nha. Chúa Nhật thứ ba trong tháng cho người Mỹ. Bố Mẹ và Cha Mẹ đỡ đầu của các Em phải đến văn phòng Nhà Xứ làm hẹn, điền đơn và ghi danh theo học lớp Giáo Lý. Tối Thứ Ba thuộc tuần thứ nhất trong tháng, lớp Giáo Lý dành cho người Tây Ban Nha. Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate the great feast of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, remembering the greatest gift Jesus left us, the gift of Himself. This is the gift that 110 of our children received for the first time last month. This is the gift that sets us apart from other Christian religions. The Eucharist is not a mere symbol, it is actually the Body and Blood of the Son of God. Many of us receive this gift on a weekly or even a daily basis, but sadly the majority of our Catholic brothers and sisters do not. The reasons are many. Without judging those who have chosen not to attend Mass, I want us to work together to bring people back to church, back to the greatest gift Jesus has given us, Himself.

Today I am asking you to join with me to reach out to the 2,000 families in our parish whom we do not see on a regular basis. Yes, my friends, this summer the parish will make a concerted effort to connect with at least 25% of these families. We will contact them through letters, phone calls, and visits to their homes. We have a seminarian from St. Charles Seminary who will assist with this effort, but many more people will be needed to assist. Please consider this request and attend our Outreach Meeting on Wednesday, June 20th, from 7:00 until 8:30 PM in the Rectory Meeting Room. At each Mass today I will be giving a brief State of the Parish. I will speak at St. Joan of Arc in two weeks. As you know, as part of our 90th Anniversary, we had a very successful campaign to restore our Parish Hall. Thanks to the generosity of so many we raised over $300,000 to renew the Hall dedicating it our founding pastor, Msgr. Martin Lynch. With 285 students in our parish school, our school came within a couple thousand dollars of breaking even for the year. For a parish school in the city, that is really unheard of. But the challenge for us is financing the rest of the parish. That includes the church, the rectory, and the Worship Sites of St. Joan of Arc and St. Joachim. It costs about $15,000 each week to run parish operations, which includes utilities, salaries and benefits, maintenance and other expenses. With our average Sunday collection being $7,150, it is easy to figure an annual deficit of $408,200. In the past four years, following the merger, we have covered that deficit through the sale of ten of our 22 buildings. But now we are at a crossroads. We currently do not have any other buildings for sale and our savings, intended to cover future improvements and repairs to the facilities, will be depleted in a few years.

In past years, following the mention of a pending deficit I have asked you to please consider increasing your weekly gift to the parish. You’ll recall that I’ve asked you to consider a weekly gift equal to at least one hour of your family’s weekly wages, and many of you have responded very generously to that request, for which I am most grateful. If you are not currently giving at least one hour of your weekly wage I ask you do please consider doing so, as our average Sunday collection is decreasing compared to last year. Today I am asking you to help grow our parish so that so that 90 years from now Holy Innocents will still be a vibrant faith community. Working together, I am confident that our parish will continue to thrive and be that Beacon of Hope for Juniata and beyond.

The parish Memorial Guild receives donations in honor of living and

deceased loved ones, for purchasing sacred vessels, vestments, altar

appointments, etc., which from time to time need to be refurbished

or replaced. Mass is offered each month for those enrolled.

Neighborhood Clean Up

The Holy Innocents Young Adult Ministry will be

sponsoring a neighborhood cleanup on

Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10AM-1PM.

We will be cleaning Cayuga Street

between Castor Avenue and “G” Street.

We will begin and end the day at the Monsignor Lynch Hall. All

materials will be provided and snacks will follow the cleanup. Sign-

up sheets will be at the entrances of the church starting on May 26th.

Queridos amigos,

Hoy celebramos la gran fiesta del Santísimo Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, recordando el regalo más grande que Jesús nos dejó, el regalo de Sí mismo. Este es el regalo que 110 de nuestros niños recibieron por primera vez el mes pasado. Este es el regalo que nos diferencia de otras religiones cristianas. La Eucaristía no es un mero símbolo, en realidad es el Cuerpo y la Sangre del Hijo de Dios. Muchos de nosotros recibimos este regalo cada semana o incluso a diario, pero lamentablemente la mayoría de nuestros hermanos y hermanas católicos no lo reciben. Las razones son muchas. Sin juzgar a aquellos que han elegido no asistir a misa, quiero que trabajemos juntos para llevar a la gente a la iglesia, de vuelta al gran regalo que Jesús nos ha dado a sí mismo.

Hoy les pido que se unan conmigo para acercarse a las 2,000 familias de nuestra parroquia a quienes no vemos de manera regular. Sí, mis amigos, este verano la parroquia hará un esfuerzo concertado para conectarse con al menos el 25% de estas familias. Nos comunicaremos con ellos a través de cartas, llamadas telefónicas y visitas a sus hogares. Tenemos un seminarista del Seminario St. Charles que ayudará con este esfuerzo, pero se necesitarán muchas más personas para ayudar. Considere esta solicitud y asista a nuestra Reunión de Alcance el miércoles 20 de junio de 7:00 a 8:30 p.m. en la Sala de reuniones de la Rectoría.

En cada misa hoy daré un breve Estado de la Parroquia. Hablaré en St. Joan of Arc en dos semanas. Como saben, como parte de nuestro 90 ° Aniversario, tuvimos una campaña muy exitosa para restaurar nuestro Salón Parroquial. Hoy les pido que ayuden a que nuestra parroquia crezca, de modo que 90 años a partir de ahora los Santos Inocentes sigan siendo una comunidad de fe vibrante. Trabajando juntos, estoy seguro de que nuestra parroquia continuará prosperando y será ese Faro de esperanza para Juniata y más allá.

Sangre y Sacrificio

¡Sangre derramada sobre el pueblo y el altar! ¡Sangre del sacrificio de

la Nueva Alianza derramada por nosotros! Poco pensamos que hayamos sido parte de estos dramáticos acontecimientos de nuestra salvación, pero Jesús nuestro Mesías acepta la alianza de Moisés, la renueva y la lleva a su cumplimiento en la cruz. Él cambia todo de una vez por todas para que nosotros, hoy, participemos en su obra, haciendo posible que todos entremos en la gracia divina y

la vida nueva. La Eucaristía nos dirige hacia la obra de su cruz, su entrega al servicio que da vida.

El Cuerpo Y Sangre De Cristo No muy seguido nos detenemos para meditar sobre el

significado de la Sangre de Cristo. La lectura del Éxodo hoy habla de la sangre de novillos que señalaba la alianza entre Dios y el pueblo de Israel. Cristo le pidió a su Padre en el huerto de Getsemaní que alejara de Él la copa de su propio sufrimiento y muerte. Cuando compartimos la Sangre de Cristo en la Comunión, decimos ¡Amén! a la Nueva Alianza en Cristo. ¿Estamos ya dispuestos para abrazar la pasión y la muerte del Señor en nuestra vida cotidiana, de cumplir no con nuestra propia voluntad, sino de morir a nosotros mismos y ceder a la voluntad de Dios?

Bautismo de los Niños Si quiere bautizar a un niño, hay que llamar a la rectoría al 215-743-2600 para hacer una cita con un sacerdote para arreglar los detalles del bautismo. No se puede ir a la clase pre-bautismal sin haberse reunido con el sacerdote primero. También, para bautizar en los Santos Inocentes hay que estar registrado aquí. Se puede hacer una cita para registrarse, o se puede registrar cuando venga para hablar del bautismo. Finalmente, cuando está escogiendo a sus padrinos, tenga en cuenta que la responsabilidad principal de un padrino es dar buen ejemplo al ahijado de lo que es vivir bien la fe católica. Por eso, para ser padrino, hay que haber recibido todos los sacramentos (bautismo, confirmación, comunión), estar registrado y participando en la iglesia (en esta parroquia u otra), y si es casado, ser casado por la Iglesia. Gracias por su atención en estos asuntos. Que Dios le brinde muchas bendiciones a su familia.

Limpieza del vecindario

El Ministerio de Jóvenes Adultos de Holy Innocents

patrocinará una limpieza del vecindario el sábado 9 de junio

de 2018 de 10 AM a 1 PM. Limpiaremos Cayuga Street entre

Castor Avenue y "G" Street. Comenzaremos y terminaremos

el día en el Monseñor Lynch Hall. Se proporcionarán todos los

materiales y los refrigerios seguirán a la limpieza. Esperamos

que pueda ayudarnos. Todos son bienvenidos.

BÀI ĐỌC I: Xh 24, 3-8 "Đây là máu giao ước Thiên Chúa đã cam kết với các ngươi". Trích sách Xuất Hành. Trong những ngày ấy, Môsê đến thuật lại cho dân chúng nghe tất cả những lời và lề luật của Chúa, và toàn dân đồng thanh thưa rằng: "Chúng tôi xin thi hành mọi lời Chúa đã phán". Vậy Môsê ghi lại tất cả những lời của Chúa. Và sáng sớm, ông chỗi dậy, lập bàn thờ ở chân núi, dựng mười hai cột trụ, chỉ mười hai chi họ Israel, ông sai các thanh niên trong con cái Israel mang của lễ toàn thiêu và hiến dâng lên Chúa những con bò tơ làm hy lễ giao hoà. Môsê lấy phân nửa máu đổ vào các chậu và rưới phân nửa kia lên bàn thờ. Ông mở quyển giao ước ao đọc cho dân nghe và họ thưa: "Chúng tôi xin thi hành và tuân theo tất cả những điều Chúa đã phán". Vậy ông lấy máu rẩy lên dân chúng và nói: "Đây là máu giao ước Thiên Chúa đã cam kết với các ngươi theo đúng tất cả những lời đó". Đó là lời Chúa. ĐÁP CA: Tv 115, 12-13. 15-16bc. 17-18 Đáp: Tôi sẽ lãnh chén cứu độ, và tôi sẽ kêu cầu danh Chúa (c. 13). Hoặc đọc: Alleluia.

Xướng: 1) Tôi lấy gì dâng lại cho Chúa, để đền đáp những điều Ngài ban tặng cho tôi? Trích thư gởi tín hữu Do-thái. em thân mến, Chúa Kitô xuất hiện như vị Thượng tế cầu bầu mọi phúc lành tương lai. Người đi qua nhà tạm rộng rãi và hoàn hảo hơn, không phải do tay người phàm xây dựng, nghĩa là không thuộc về trần gian này, cũng không nhờ máu dê bò, nhưng nhờ chính máu của Người mà vào Cung Thánh chỉ một lần và đem lại ơn cứu độ muôn đời. Vì nếu máu dê và tro bò mà người ta rảy trên kẻ ô uế còn thánh hoá được thân xác nên trong sạch, huống chi máu của Đức Kitô, Đấng đã nhờ Thánh Thần mà hiến tế chính mình làm của lễ trong sạch dâng lên Thiên Chúa; máu đó sẽ tẩy sạch lương tâm chúng ta khỏi những việc sinh sự chết, khiến chúng ta có thể phụng sự Thiên Chúa hằng sống. Vì vậy Chúa Kitô là trung gian của Tân Ước, vì nhờ sự chết của Người để cứu chuộc tội phạm dưới thời Cựu Ước, mà những kẻ được kêu gọi, đến lãnh lấy gia nghiệp đời đời đã hứa cho họ. Đó là lời Chúa. CA TIẾP LIÊN Trước Alleluia, có thể hát hoặc đọc Ca Tiếp Liên Lauda Sion (trang 420), tất cả hoặc từ câu 21 ("Này đây bánh") cho đến hết. ALLELUIA: Ga 6, 51-52 Alleluia, alleluia! - Chúa phán: "Ta là bánh hằng sống từ trời xuống; ai ăn bánh này, thì sẽ sống đời đời". - Alleluia. PHÚC ÂM: Mc 14, 12-16. 22-26 "Này là Mình Ta. THỰC PHẨM GIÚP ĐỠ CHO NGƯỜI NGHÈO: Những ai

muốn giúp đỡ thực phẩm cho người nghèo thì xin đưa thực phẩm (khô hay đông lạnh) vào Nhà Thờ mỗi Chúa Nhật thuộc tuần thứ ba trong tháng, trước hoặc sau Thánh Lễ.
