PLEASE, THE LARGE FANS MUST STAY ON!

The large fans in the church have been intentionally and strategically placed to allow for the maximum airflow. We also open the upstairs windows so the rising hot air can escape. So, please refrain from touching, moving or turn-ing off the large fans while you are at Mass. If you are troubled by the breeze or the sound of the fans, please take another seat for your comfort. All of us are anxious for the temperature stabiliza-tion project to begin. As we await approval from the Department of Buildings, we have to rely on the large fans for the benefit and comfort of everyone. We appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thank you very much!

Have You Noticed?

There are no second collections in the months of July and August. We do this on purpose and out of respect for external Charities and you, dear parishioners! Thank you for being so very generous!

The “Business” End of Holy Trinity A Gentle, Respectful Reminder

As the Summer hits its stride many parishioners go away on vacation and it might be good to remind yourselves that your parish depends on your sustained, voluntary donations. We currently have 86 ENVELOPE users and 165 WeShare ONLINE users – which represents only about ¼ of those who attend Sunday Mass. Naturally, as you know, we have to meet and manage our weekly expenses which continue throughout the summer, even as attendance dwindles. Soooooo, we’d like to encourage more parish-ioners to sign up for weekly/monthly envelopes, or to register with our online giving service, WeShare. 1. To sign up for WeShare, please visit our website: www.htcny.org and click the “Donate online” link. 2. To sign up for our envelope service, contact us at the rectory, 212-787-0634. Tara W. Dahill, Bookkeeper Catherine Jestice, Secretary Holy Trinity Church, 213 West 82nd Street New York, NY 10024

+ Holy Trinity – 10 Years Ago +

“from the archives!” For Your Interest and Information A reminder that a 7:30 AM Mass is being offered week-days during Lent. It can be difficult in our multi-tasking world to set aside a time during the day for quiet and focus – much less to recognize a specific season in which to live differently. Daily Mass attendance can be a help here. Would like to – but just can’t manage it? Consider: many people arrange an early-morning trip to the gym to keep their bodies fit. Perhaps a similarly scheduled trip to Mass will make us spiritual athletes? J.R.R. Tolkien, no morning person, but devoted Catholic nonetheless, would haul himself out of bed to make early daily Mass, and then go home, shower, shave and prepare for his first tutorial. (2/17/08) May Crowning Next Sunday, May 18th, at the 9:30 Mass, we will have the Crowning of the Blessed Mother. All are invited to join in this beloved Marian celebration – we urge the adults to take the initiative of joining in the procession to show the children “how it’s done.” Afterwards, be sure to stop by the Murphy Center (and the Grotto, weather permitting!) for “Cake ‘n Coffee,” sponsored by our Families Group. (5/11/08) And from 20 Years Ago … NOTE: 1998 was the year of Holy Trinity’s Centennial Today is a high-water mark in our on-going Centennial Celebration! Following the 12:30 Mass, we will be welcoming former parishioners, clergy, and Holy Trinity Elementary School Alumni to meet with all current parishioners at a grand reception in the Murphy Center. On display we will have personal memorabilia of days gone by on this special block of the Upper West Side, all very graciously lent to us to share with everyone for the afternoon! Join us! (7/20/98)
