students do in the classroom and what

they do at home. Use this starter kit to

host an unforgettable night of fun!

Ideas for your DreamBox-Themed Family Math Night

DreamBox Night of Fun

• Print out DreamBox posters and hang them around yourclassroom (available in the Resources tab of your InsightDashboard).

• At the beginning of the night, help your students’ parents set uptheir Family Insight Dashboard using the computers in yourclassroom or computer lab.

• Once they’ve learned how to log-in to their Family InsightDashboard, show your students’ parents how to navigate theimportant reports, such as the Activity Feed. Tip: Recommend thatparents use the “Play Lesson” functionality in their InsightDashboard to facilitate discussions about what the student islearning.

• Send parents home with helpful resources to reinforce andempower learning with DreamBox at home, such as the ‘UsingDreamBox at Home’ flyer or the ‘Parent Letter’ downloadable inyour Insight Dashboard.

Station Rotation Model

Setting up a station rotation can be a great way to engage parents! Try to identify a few parent leaders in advance of your Family Math Night who can help facilitate each station.

• Video Station: Play the video explaining DreamBox LearningMath and “Why Kids Love DreamBox” (refer to videos listed on thenext page).

• Computer Station: Have parents play DreamBox lessons to getfamiliar with our “think and do” learning experience:www.dreambox.com/k-8-math-lessons

• Physical Manipulative Station: Set out physical manipulativeswith an assignment that you’ve given your students and haveparents work through the problems.

Print copies of this flyer and send it home with everybody at the end of the night. If parents were unable to set up their Family Insight Dashboard during your Family Math Night, make sure to send them home with the Parent Letter (available in your Insight Dashboard) to walk them through setting up their Dashboard at home.
