Registration Dates● Wednesday, March 25 - Students receive registration cards ● Thursday, April 2nd - Complete and return to homeroom
teachers ● April 13-17 - Counselors and administrators will meet with
students individually to input course requests ● Early May - Parents receive placement recommendation● Early June - Parents receive single gender placement
information● May-June - SCMS counselors and administrators schedule
core courses

○ Major topics include: Proportional Relationships, Writing and Solving Multi-step Equations and Geometry
● Honors ○ All of the Math 7 topics and over half of Math 8 topics. ○ Math 8 topics include: Introduction to Functions,
Graphing Equations, Operations with Exponents
8th Grade Math● Math 8
○ Equations and Functions○ Math 8 EOG in late May / early June
● Math I - Yearlong○ High school credit and grading (70/30)○ Completes the study of Linear Functions & Relationships○ Math I EOC and Math 8 EOG
● Math I/II - One per semester○ High school credit and grading (70/30)○ Math II completes the study of Geometric Concepts and
Trigonometric Relationships (explored and applied)○ Math I EOC, Math II EOC and Math 8 EOG
