Organisation Stage 2 and Stage 3 teachers work collaboratively across their stage.
Stage meetings are held once a week to plan and review teaching programs and assessments.
Term planners and teaching/learning programs are followed by each teacher to ensure the same content is taught across the stages.
Students complete common stage assessments throughout the year;
English – writing, reading fluency and comprehension and areas of mathematics. Assessments are discussed at meetings for CTJ (consistent teacher judgement).
Assessments assist in helping us to know our students and allow for grouping and differentiation for our students.
Learning Intention and Success Criteria stated clearly at the beginning of each lesson.
Self assessment using consistent language e.g. feeling ‘green’, ‘orange’ or ‘red’.

“In the Kenthurst Public School community, we teach behaviour as
vigorously as academics. This means everyone, everywhere, every
time.”
Positive Behaviour Positive behaviour in the classroom and playground is highly
encouraged at Kenthurst Public School. Students can earn:
Key to Success tokens (KTS keys)
Merit Certificates
Classroom Rewards
KTS keys are Free and Frequent rewards – students place their earnt keys into a class lucky dip. Canteen vouchers are drawn each week at Monday morning assembly.
Merit Certificates are Intermittent rewards – two merit certificates are awarded each week by classroom teachers, science and library, at Monday morning assembly. These focus on our three school values: Respect, Responsibility and Personal Best.
Students collect four merits to entitle them to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Certificate. This is awarded at our formal fortnightly assemblies on Thursday.

School Wide PBL Posters:
These posters are used in the
classroom as effective visual aids!
School-Wide Expectation and
Behaviour Matrix Kenthurst Public School has a revised Expectation and Behaviour
Matrix that all teachers have begun teaching from.
It is vital that students know what is expected in each area within
the school and follow the expectations outlined.
Students are rewarded for following the expectations.
Students who do not follow the expectations are prompted,
redirected, provided a choice and conferenced with a teacher to
teach them correct behaviour.
Each classroom teacher has created their own ”Classroom Matrix”
for the needs of their class. These portray the rules and procedures
for their room.

Minor, Major and Critical Behaviour
Teachers follow classroom and playground behaviour
management flowcharts for any negative behaviour.
The type of behaviour exhibited by the student, justifies if it
is a minor, major or critical incident. Teachers record the
incident on a paper referral slip and a consequence is put
in place (following the management flowchart).
