• Studentswillbeabletodetermineanglerelationshipsandmeasureswhen
parallellinesarecutbyatransversal.
Materials
• “ParallelLinesCutbyaTransversal”Worksheet
• Projectorand/orDocumentCamera(optional)
Procedure
• Givestudentsabout5minutestoworkthroughthepuzzleontheirown.
• Havestudentsworkinpairsorsmallgroupsforabout10moreminutes.
• Discussasalargegroup.Here’smypersonalprocedure:
– Iprojectthepuzzleonthefrontboard.
– ThenIcallonestudentuptotheboardtoXillin3anglesmeasures
thattheyknowbasedontheinformationalreadyXilledin.
– Iaskacoupleofdifferentstudentstoprovidevocabularywordsto
describepairsofanglemeasuresthatwerejustaddedtothefront
board.
– Repeatuntilallanglesmeasureshavebeendiscussed.
