PARACANOE

GREAT NEW! The IPC (International Paralympic

Committee) approves, in December 2010, the inclusion of Paracanoe at the Paralympic Games in 2016.

INTERNATIONAL The ICF adopted, in 2009, the term

Paracanoe as new modality for its championships in calm waters paddlers with disabilities psycho-motor.

IN SPAIN The CSD wants to make athletes with

disabilities do their sport on equal terms those who haven’t any disability.

Paracanoe must be treated like the rest of the modalities. The RFEP is the responsible of it was considered one more of them.

PADDLE-ABILITY In 2009 the RFEP creates the "Paddle-

Ability" program for participation in our sport, people with disabilities.

Focused more on skill than on disability, it encourages the development of canoeing as integration and equal opportunities between those who wish to become involved.
