PANCHAYAT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT MINISTER

The Panchayat development minister has only made significant achievement for all

officers and employees of the department, including the rural population and the

Panchayat Raj institutions and state officials and members.

Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi today honoured Chhattisgarh State by giving 'E-

Panchayat' National Award . Chhattisgarh State Panchayat and Rural Development

Minister Mr.Ajay Chandrakar received the prestigious award on behalf of the State.

It may be mentioned here that Chhattisgarh bagged E-Panchayat National Award

for linking almost all the panchayats with Information Technology network.

Our Panchayat Development Minister always focused on initiating the Information

Technology network in a new state like Chhattisgarh. Three-tier Panchayat Raj

institutions have been empowered in the State. Women have been empowered by

providing 50 % reservation in Panchayat Raj institutions.

'Swachchta' campaign has been launched vigorously in rural areas and it is

mandatory to construct toilets in pachayats. The representatives have been

empowered to recruit at the local-level.

Chhattisgarh government gave the final shape to the proposal for launching Vidhayak

adarsh gram yojana (MLA model village scheme) in the state. The state cabinet

approved the scheme and gave final nod to the proposal to set up a high powered

committee to execute the scheme.

The cabinet also decided to depute the panchayat and rural development department

as the nodal agency for the project.

Our rural development minister stated that MP Model Village Scheme was initiated

in the country from October 11, 2014. It was a request by our Prime Minister to

conduct MLA Model Village Scheme, on the lines of MP Model Village Scheme.
