Those who perform well enough in their respective events will earn the opportunity to represent Pinellas County at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Orlando in March, and potentially at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta in June.Fundraising & Philanthropy So far this year, FBLA has raised over $500 through various fundraisers. The majority of the funds will be used to offset costs associated with students attending our State and National Leadership Conferences. A portion of all of our fundraising goes towards our philanthropic projects, which include the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life to be held on April, 2016, at PHUHS, and the March of Dimes: March for Babies which will take place at the Safety Harbor Marina on April 25, 2016. Please consider assisting our students in participating in these valuable educational opportunities by making a donation to PHUHS-FBLA.

BFF – “Business Friends Forever” – Business Lecture Series

This student favorite continues on February 12, 2016, when local business people present practical concepts and skills, aimed at helping students prepare for College, Careers, and Life. This session’s topics include the following: Career Planning, Entrepreneurship, and Maintaining a Work/Life Balance.

Job Shadow February 2, 2016, is National Job Shadow Day. CABAM students will be participating in our fourth semi-annual Job Shadowing experience. This a career exploration project in which the students choose a career that they have interest in pursuing, and arrange to shadow someone who performs that job for the day, to get a real look at what people in that profession do on a day-to-day basis. Students have shadowed accountants, CEO’s, teachers, business owners, realtors, doctors, lawyers, and even Tampa Mayor, Bob Buckhorn.

Last year, more than 175 CABAM students raised almost $18,000 to help in the fight against cancer, far above the $5,000 goal they had set. This year, they have set their sights on raising $25,000. Come out and enjoy the festivities. If you’d like to make a donation to the CABAM team, you can do so on the CABAM-PHUHS page or through the RelayforLife.org website.
