OPPORTUNITY: Costa Rican: PALM OIL FARMS

Presented by United Country Resort Realty

March 30, 2012

Our Goal:

• To offer for sale Costa Rica’s top palm oil plantations; that currently outperform all other farms nationally and most other farms internationally. More than 100 farms were researched during 2011; our 2 are the best. At an asking price less than $.26 sq.ft., Costa Rican oil palms start producing from their 3rd year and will continue to do so for an additional 22 years or more.

• We’ll show you that “sustainable” palm oil is the new product that will ensure future interest and maximum profitability. With membership into the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), their certification for all aspects of production, guarantees int’l approval.

• Using conservative numbers, to return 12% annually to investment partners over the project time horizon.

The Oil Palm – Key Facts • Palm oil is the most produced vegetable oil in the world

and is found in almost half of all top-selling grocery brands in U.S. and European supermarkets.

• 26.19% of vegetable oil requirement in the world is provided by Palm Oil. It has 40% share of the world’s trade in edible oil.

• The worldwide area planted under Oil palm has increased by more than 150% in the past few decades, while prices have continued to climb.

• Oil palm is the highest oil yielding plant in the world with 5 times higher oil yield per hectare compared to other vegetable oil yielding crops.

• New evidence shows that it is rich in Vitamin A & Vitamin E, with other healthful benefits.

Palm Oil - Plantation to Mill • The source of palm oil is the seed of the African Oil Palm

(Elaeis guineensis). These seeds come in bunches, called Fresh Fruit Bundles (FFB’s) in the industry.

• The Nigerian species is more resistant to both flood and disease

• A mature oil palm will yield one bunch, weighing around 5 kilos, every 10 days. With an average of 142 palms per hectare, the annual yield of FFB’s is approximately 26 metric tonnes/hectare, depending on the species

• The bunches are then cut from the tree, gathered and sent to a mill for processing into crude palm oil (CPO) and Palm kernel oil (PKO)

The Opportunity – Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

• The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was formed in 2004 in response to the global

urgency for sustainably produced palm oil, with the objective:

– promoting the growth and use of sustainable oil palm products through credible global

standards.

– Originally based on cooperation between a number of top business partners and the WWF (highly

respected World Wildlife Fund)

– As a founding member of the RSPO, WWF worked to make sure its standards are founded on solid

social and environmental criteria, including a prohibition on the conversion of valuable forests to oil

palm plantations. Their goal, “We support monitoring, adoption and compliance to RSPO standards

by palm oil producers, and are driving demand for sustainable palm oil amongst retailers and

manufacturers.”"…if we all work hard, the RSPO could become the platform where all stakeholders

in the palm oil chain, from plantation workers to retailers and from manufacturers to nature

conservationists, can work together to shape a sustainable future for palm oil…" - Mr. Jan Kees Vis,

Unilever NV, First President of the RSPO

The Differentiator – Sustainable Palm Oil

Certified Sustainable Palm Oil grows in market share

• The Hague, March 27th 2012 – The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)

applauded the work of the Dutch Task Force on Sustainable Palm Oil today for their

promising commitment towards sustainable palm oil, blazing the trail for other countries

to emulate. 21% of total palm oil used in the Netherlands is RSPO-certified

Europeans are on all ready on board to limit purchases in 2015 of palm oil from only provable,

sustainable suppliers. Can the U.S. be far behind?

17 October 2011: McDonald’s Corp. has officially been approved as a member of the

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) following its announcement earlier this year on

its commitment to only purchase palm oil from certified sustainable sources.

They join Walmart, Unilever, and the Hershey company as high-profile companies to join the

RSPO.

Palm Oil Mill to Product

• The mill separates the oil from the husk and segregates CPO from PKO. Typical yield of oil per tonne of FFB’s is around 22-25%. Our farms’ ratios are higher.

• The oil is then loaded on tanker trucks and sent to a terminal for loading onto ocean going tankers

• Depending upon the desired application, Palm oil then goes through numerous refining and transformational steps to become:

– Food

– Fuel,

– Frying oil, or

– Personal Care Products

the world, 4.2 Metric tonnes over Malaysia 4.1 MT,

Indonesia 3.8 MT, Colombia and Honduras 2.7 MT 3.0 MT .

• Government Stability

– Democracy since 1847

• National and Local Support of Oil Palm plantations

– Enterprise zone incentives for Palm Oil investment, including tax
