Landscape, Land and ClimateSindh- coastal area unfertile soilPunjab, N.W.F.P, Khyber Pakhtun Khwa-fertile soil, not a coastal area, it is also very mountainous. Pakistan has five rivers that fall into one in Punjab, they are; The Indus River-where the world’s blind dolphins are found. There are the rivers of Ravi, Sutlej, Jhelum and Chenab. The place where the five rivers meet is called the Punjnad. These rivers combined are called the Indus as well and the indus then flows into the Arabian sea.

Pakistan has the advantage of a coastline and so is able to make easy communications. Pakistan has six fishing ports, five in Balochistan and one in Sindh.Balochistan ports- Gawadar, Pasni, Jivani, Ormara, Sonmiani.Sindh Port- Karachi portThe Arabian sea is rich in fish such as sharks, rays, skates, drums, sardines etc.Fresh water fishing is also common in Pakistan. The fish of Pakistan are banned in European countries because of unhygienic packing but China, Sri Lanka and Honk Kong are major importers of Pakistani fish because of it’s taste. The fish in Pakistan is therefore consumed by the local community.

There are many forests in Pakistan, such as the coniferous, alpine, mangrove, riverain, sub tropical, tropical-thorn forests. Otherwise there are also irrigated forests, planted by the Pakistani government. The land of Punjab is majorly used for growing the most valuable crops of the earth. Pakistan is a major producer of rice and one of the world’s leading producer of cotton. However the climate of lower Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan is getting very high day by day and can reach up to 40 degrees Celsius on a normal summer day, these areas also have very little rain. But the northern Punjab and other northern Pakistani areas receive more rainfall and in winters these areas also receive snowfall. There is growing need of forests to be planted in Pakistan to avoid the almost annual floods in Punjab and also so that the southern areas of Pakistan can receive rain.

Resources

The land of Pakistan is rich in resources some of which are, oil, silica sand, gypsum, limestone, salt, natural gas, gold, gemstones of different sorts, coal and water.Coal reserves- 175 billion tons, these reserves will last for almost 2 centuries.Gas reserves-885.3 billion cubic metres. Gas fields can only last for fourteen more years.Energy- Per capita availability is 0.28 million tons per year, While consumption per year is 48.3 million tons

Pakistan also has a running production of livestock such as sheep cattle and goats. There are many beautiful birds in Pakistan as well, the most famous being the chukar and the peafowl of Punjab
