October 2 – 21, 2013 Day 1 / KALYMNOS (Wed 2nd) FREE DAY Please take Greek domestic flight to Kalymnos airport where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. We are staying in the picturesque whitewashed village of Myrties, back dropped by dramatic mountains facing the sea with a jetty lined with fishing boats. Facing the isle of Telendos, Myrties boasts one of the most spectacular sunsets in the Aegean. Welcome sunset cocktails. Day 2 / KALYMNOS (Thu 3rd) FREE DAY Free day to explore the village, go for a swim or perhaps visit the vibrant main town, Pothia. Day 3 / KALYMNOS (Fri 4th) Myrties: The view of the tiny jetty with its colourful boats is idyllic. Optional Greek Night with live music & dancing. Day 4 / KALYMNOS (Sat 5th) Vathy: Descending into this fertile valley with its great groves of mandarins is an unforgettable sight as it also has one of the deepest and most beautiful natural harbours in the Aegean. The inlet is magical with its fishing boats, goats and whitewashed churches. Optional lunch under a vine overlooking the beautiful inlet. Day 5 / KALYMNOS (Sun 6th) Emborios: Harry’s taverna, set in the islands most beautiful garden with its pots of geraniums, roses, sprays of lavender, olive and fig trees will inspire us for our painting session. Optional mese lunch (a variety of vegetarian appetizers) in this exquisite garden setting.

Day 6 / KALYMNOS (Mon 7th) Aghias Savas: The rich terracotta domes of this beautiful monastery, contrasted with the deep blues of the sky and sea are a scene to capture. Group evening BBQ at Babis Bar. Day 7 / KALYMNOS (Tue 8th) Telendos: Departing from the small jetty of Myrties, we cross the narrow strait to this tiny tranquil isle, its waterfront lined with tavernas and bold yellow tangled fishing nets. (Afternoon Critique) Day 8 / KOS (Wed 9th ) FREE DAY Depart Kalymnos 7:30 am - Arrive Kos 8:30 am Kos Kos, the birthplace of Hippocrates is a blend of ancient sites, medieval fortifications, Turkish minarets and florid Italian buildings. Optional excursion to Turkey to visit the coastal town of Bodrum with its exotic restaurants and colourful bazaar – a shopper’s paradise! Day 9 / TILOS (Thu 10th) FREE DAY Depart Kos at 14:45 - Arrive Tilos 15:30 Tilos: Its vistas of high cliffs overlooking valleys of cypresses, walnut and olive trees is totally unspoilt. Our hotel by the sea, offers wonderful views and terrific swimming! Optional group dinner along the waterfront. Day 10 / TILOS (Fri 11th) Livadi: The sweep of the protected bay between rugged headlands is stunning. Day 11 / TILOS (Sat 12th) Megalio Chorio. The whitewashed village with its narrow lanes, crowned by a medieval fortress is situated in the island’s interior. Optional lunch at a family taverna under the vine overlooking the fertile valley. Day 12 / TILOS (Sun 13th) Agias Andonis: Under the shade of the tamarisk trees, this tiny jetty with its colourful tangled nets and fishing boats is a typical Greek scene! Optional lunch at a taverna right on the water’s edge – enjoy the super fresh catch of the day! Day 13 / TILOS (Mon 14th Livadi: The whitewashed village clustered at the edge of the bay is striking with its red and yellow ochre rugged rocks reflected into the turquoise sea. (Afternoon Critique)

Day 14 / CHALKI (Tue 15th) FREE DAY Depart Tilos 15:30 - Arrive Chalki 16:10 We will be staying right on the waterfront - a stunning location with panoramic vistas from our terrace perched right on the waters’ edge. Optional group dinner. Day 15 / CHALKI (Wed 16th) Emborios: From our terrace, we are surrounded by inspirational vistas! Day 16 / CHALKI (Thu 17th) Emborios: The backstreets surrounding St. Nicholas church with its pebble-mosaic courtyard are charming with their brightly painted doors and shutters. Optional group dinner. Day 17 / CHALKI (Fri 18th) Emborios: The picturesque harbour is lined with beautiful neo-classical homes. The cafes along the waterfront are a popular meeting place for the locals and a great spot to capture the laid-back atmosphere of Chalki! Day 18 / CHALKI (Sat 19th) Emborios: The narrow alleys are filled with whitewashed stone walls, sprays of bougainvillea, pink oleander trees and scarlet geraniums. (Afternoon Critique & farewell sunset drinks) Optional group dinner. Day 19 / RHODES (Sun 20th) FREE DAY Depart Chalki 7:00 am - Arrive Rhodes 8:30 am Our hotel is situated in the centre of Rhodes Town within walking distance of all the fabulous shops, tavernas, cafes and famous sites. The Old Town is a magical place to stroll with its medieval cobbled lanes and incredible buildings connected by beautiful arches. Passing through the Kastro Gardens you pass the impressive paved street of the Knights, the Archaeological Museum, the Palace of the Grand Masters and the famous Hippocrates Square with its mosaics and artists. Day 20 / DEPARTURE (Mon 21st) Transfer to Rhodes Airport for return flight to Athens.

Bookings – To confirm reservation, a deposit of $A 500 is required to ensure your place on the tour. Final payment is required 90 days prior tour (Please see attached booking form) Cancellations – Should you wish to cancel, a cancellation fee will be incurred as follows: Within 15 days prior tour – 75% total land cost Within 30-15 days prior tour – 50% total land cost Within 45 – 30 days prior tour – 25% total land cost Within 60 – 45 days prior tour – tour deposit Within 90 – 60 days prior tour – 50% tour deposit 90 days or more prior tour – no cancellation fee.

FURTHER INFORMATION Flights are not included in the tour cost. You are responsible for booking international return flights to Athens and domestic flights to and from the islands, as stated in the itinerary. Flights may be booked independently through any travel agency or through our own travel agent associated with the tour. Please check for tour confirmation prior to flight payment. Lunch and dinner are not included in the cost. Meals with wine, salad and bread are approx. $15-$20. In Kalymnos and a few other islands we stay in furnished studio apartments with kitchens and balcony sea views. The painting itinerary may be subject to change depending on weather conditions. If twin share is requested please note that you are responsible for sharing arrangements. In order for tours to operate a minimum number of bookings are required. (Please note that the majority of tours go ahead.) If the minimum number is not met, the tour may be cancelled with a full refund. Various artists run different tours. Due to unforeseen circumstances, an artist may need to be substituted in order for the trip to proceed, thus avoiding cancellation and disappointment. Materials – You are required to bring along your own painting materials, including easels if required. Stools are optional. Please refer to the material list and make sure you are well equipped for the art tour as it is extremely difficult to buy art materials on these islands. Once your booking is confirmed, the recommended list of materials put together by the tutor of your chosen tour will be sent to you. Luggage – You are advised to pack lightly as we travel by ferry to the other islands, and you are responsible for managing your luggage. Only minimal clothing is required as Greece is extremely casual, and you can wash and dry overnight. Banks - A.T.M. outlets are situated on all these islands. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in some shops, but it is basically a cash economy. REMEMBER to pack sun block, a hat, comfortable shoes with non-slip soles, a warm all-weather jacket, a small torch, and your cossi! (*See suggested packing list that will be provided.) EXTRA NIGHTS ACCOMMODATION. If you are extending your accommodation before or after the tour on the islands featured in the itinerary, the required payment for the extra nights can be paid directly to Diana in Greece.
