Paint Horse Case Study
Large Deep Wound Patient: Splash – Paint Horse – 1 y.o.
Splash was brutally attacked by another horse. The wounds on both sides of the neck were so deep, with such massive loss of cu- taneous tissues that the first veterinary surgeon thought the horse had to be euthanized.
The owner asked for a second opinion. Another veterinary surgeon recommended Derma GeL® as the only possibility to save the horse.
Derma GeL® Treatment After 6 weeks, the wound healed very fast without suturing, with- out bandaging while the horse was left in the field.
Key Points: Fast healing (60% faster than any other product) No proud flesh or hair discoloration on regrowth Protective film effect + insect repellent GeL stayed where applied (vertically) No infection No suturing No bandaging No loss of mobility (no tissue adherence) Best value for money (fast healing = less applications)
