Αγαπητοί γονείς και κηδεμόνες,

Η Ελληνική Κοινότητα Τορόντο πιστή στην παράδοση της, συνεχίζει να αγωνίζεται για

την εξύψωση του μορφωτικού και πολιτιστικού επιπέδου των ελληνοπαίδων της

παροικίας μας, καθώς και για την μεταλαμπάδευση του ελληνικού πολιτισμού στις

νεότερες γενιές. Πιστοί στις παραδόσεις μας, θέλουμε να σας ενθαρρύνουμε να

συμμετέχετε στα προγράμματα μας, διότι η ελληνορθόδοξη παιδεία είναι το πιο

σημαντικό εφόδιο το οποίο μπορείτε να προσφέρετε σε ένα παιδί. Οι γνώσεις, οι αρχές,

τα ιδανικά, το ήθος και η πολιτιστική καλλιέργεια που προσφέρει η ελληνορθόδοξη

παιδεία είναι ανωτέρου επιπέδου. Οι μαθητές μας μαθαίνουν Ελληνικά, θρησκευτικά,

ιστορία, γεωγραφία, παραδοσιακούς ελληνικούς χορούς και ελληνικά τραγούδια.

Επενδύουμε στην Ελληνική Γλώσσα και Ιστορία, και τον Απαράμιλλης Αξίας Ελληνικό

Πολιτισμό. Στηρίζουμε την ελληνόγλωσση εκπαίδευση και προχωράμε στην

αναδιάρθρωση του ομογενειακού εκπαιδευτικού πλαισίου με τον σχεδιασμό και την

ανάπτυξη ενός ολοκληρωμένου αναλυτικού προγράμματος, το οποίο είναι μοναδικό

Το ισχύον κόστος της ετήσιας συνδρομής στην Ελληνική Κοινότητα Τορόντο (EKT) είναι $100.00. Είναι

απαραίτητη η συνδρομή για να υπάρχει το δικαίωμα εγγραφής στα προγράμματα της Ελληνικής

κοινότητας. Membership to the Greek Community of Toronto (GCT) is required in order to enroll your

children in all programs offered by the GCT. The current membership fee is $100 per family.

ΑΚΥΡΩΣΗ ΜΑΘΗΜΑΤΩΝ

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

Σε περίπτωση δυσμενών καιρικών συνθηκών ή έκτακτων συμβάντων που επιβάλλουν την ακύρωση

μαθημάτων, το Τμήμα Παιδείας της ΕΚΤ ακολουθεί τις οδηγίες/ανακοινώσεις του Toronto District

School Board. Γίνεται κάθε δυνατή προσπάθεια να ειδοποιηθούν οι γονείς ηλεκτρονικά (email) ή

τηλεφωνικά. Επίσης αναρτάται στο σχολικό ιστολόγιο www.greekpaideia.org.

The Education Department of the Greek Community of Toronto will cancel classes due to severe weather

conditions or other emergencies, in accordance with the decisions of the Toronto District School Board.

We will endeavour to contact all parents by email and phone time permitted and also post

announcements on our website.

ΕΠΙΣΤΡΟΦΗ ΔΙΔΑΚΤΡΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΕΚΠΤΩΣΗ

REFUND POLICY & DISCOUNT

1. Εάν τα δίδακτρα εξοφληθούν πριν από τις 30 Σεπτεμβρίου, παρέχεται 5% έκπτωση.

2. Σύμφωνα με τους κανονισμούς της ΕΚΤ, τα δίδακτρα πρέπει να έχουν εξοφληθεί μέχρι και τις 1

Νοεμβρίου. Μετά από αυτή την ημερομηνία, ο λογαριασμός θα επιβαρύνεται με διοικητικά

έξοδα $75 ανά μαθητή (late payment administration fee).

3. Εάν ένας μαθητής διακόψει τα μαθήματα πριν τις 30 Οκτωβρίου, θα επιστραφεί 75% των διδάκτρων.

4. Εάν ένας μαθητής διακόψει τα μαθήματα πριν τις 15 Δεκεμβρίου, θα επιστραφεί 50% των

διδάκτρων.

5. Δεν επιστρέφονται τα δίδακτρα στη περίπτωση που μαθητής σταματήσει μετά τις 15 Δεκεμβρίου.

6. Τα $100 της συνδρομής δεν επιστρέφονται.

2. According to the policy of the GCT, all fees must be paid in full no later than November 1st. Failure

to do so will result in a $75 late payment administration fee per student.

3. If a student pulls out of any program by October 30th, they will receive a 75% refund.

4. If a student pulls out of any program by December 15th, they will receive a 50% refund.

5. There will be no refunds for any student who pulls out of the program after December 15

Aristotelis Recognized School is an intensive, three-day-a-week program for students who

wish to achieve advanced Greek Language Proficiency and Ellinomatheia Certification.

Recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education, this program exclusively follows the

curriculum of the Education Department of the GCT and prepares students for the

Ellinomatheia exams.

The Adult Greek School program offers three levels of instruction:

Beginner courses offer the chance for students to start learning Greek as a

Intermediate courses offer more intensive lessons, which improve communication

Advanced courses put the finishing touches on learning Greek, preparing students

to take the Ellinomatheia examination in Greek Language Proficiency.

CREDIT SCHOOLS

Offering credits towards the Ontario Secondary School diploma, Aristotelis,

Socrates and Virgin Mary Credit Schools are accredited programs by the

Ministry of Education of Ontario. Our students will receive 3 high school

academic credits (Modern Greek Grades 10, 11, 12), which are recognized by the

Ministry of Education.

*Due to recent changes in the Ontario international languages

curriculum announced by the Ministry of Education Grade 9 is no

longer a credit course. We highly recommend that students continue

learning Greek in our grade 9 (Paideia based) credit school

preparatory course. *

Περιγραφή Προγραμμάτων

Νέο Σύγχρονο Αναλυτικό Πρόγραμμα: «ΠΑΙΔΕΙΑ»

Η Ελληνική Κοινότητα πρωτοπορεί στο χώρο της Ελληνόγλωσσης Εκπαίδευσης

στο Εξωτερικό. Στην προσπάθεια μας να αναβαθμίσουμε τα προγράμματα μας,

αλλά και για να αναδείξουμε την αξία του Ελληνικού Σχολείου στο οποίο πρέπει

να φοιτούν όλα τα ελληνόπουλα της παροικίας μας, σας παρουσιάζουμε από τη

φετινή σχολική χρονιά το πρώτο μέρος του μοναδικού στον κόσμο αναλυτικού

προγράμματος το οποίο στην τελική του μορφή θα καλύπτει όλες τις τάξεις από

το νηπιαγωγείο έως και την Γ’ Λυκείου. Το Σεπτέμβρη του 2014 θα είναι έτοιμο

το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα για τις τάξεις της πρωτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης (νήπια

έως ΣΤ’ Δημοτικού). Το εγχείρημα αυτό όμως δεν θα περιοριστεί αποκλειστικά

στη συγγραφή νέου αναλυτικού προγράμματος. Επιπρόσθετα, θα γραφτούν νέα

σχολικά εγχειρίδια για τους μαθητές όλων των τάξεων, αλλά και οι αντίστοιχοι

αναλυτικοί οδηγοί για τους εκπαιδευτικούς. Η προσπάθεια ανανέωσης και

αναβάθμισης των ελληνορθόδοξων προγραμμάτων μας θα ολοκληρωθεί έως τον

Σεπτέμβρη του 2018. Μέχρι να ολοκληρωθεί το πρόγραμμα «Παιδεία», τα

σχολεία μας θα συνεχίσουν να εφαρμόζουν τα αναγνωρισμένα προγράμματα

σπουδών από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας της Ελλάδας. Κατά το σχολικό έτος 2014-

2015, εκτός από το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα της πρωτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, θα

χρησιμοποιηθούν για πρώτη φορά στην πιλοτική τους μορφή τα σχολικά

εγχειρίδια της Α’, Γ’ και Ε’ τάξης του Δημοτικού, αλλά και οι αντίστοιχοι οδηγοί

για τον εκπαιδευτικό. Σας προσκαλούμε όλους να αγκαλιάσετε και να στηρίξετε

την σπουδαία αυτή προσπάθεια αναβάθμισης της ελληνόγλωσσης παιδείας στην

πόλη μας.

Το νέο αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα «Παιδεία» που αποσκοπεί στην καλλιέργεια της

Ελληνικής Γλώσσας και Πολιτισμού στα σχολεία μας, είναι επιστημονικά

τεκμηριωμένο και βασίζεται σε στοιχεία των παρακάτω Θεωρητικών Πλαισίων

και Προγραμμάτων Σπουδών:

1. Το Κοινό Ευρωπαϊκό Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς για τις Γλώσσες που καθορίζει τα

επίπεδα γλωσσομάθειας από Α1 έως Γ2 ανάλογα με το επίπεδο γνώσης της

γλώσσας, ικανότητας χειρισμού της και επικοινωνίας με αυτή.

2. Το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα της Ελλάδας για την εκμάθηση της Ελληνικής ως

μητρική.

3. Τις τελευταίες σύγχρονες Παιδαγωγικές Θεωρίες για την εκμάθηση

γλωσσών (μητρικής, δεύτερης ή ξένης)

4. Το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα του Οντάριο για το μάθημα της γλώσσας.

5. Το Θεωρητικό Πλαίσιο και τα Προγράμματα Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου

Κρήτης

6. Τα πορίσματα της μελέτης του Συμβουλίου των Υπουργών Παιδείας του

Καναδά πάνω στην εκπαιδευτική αξία του Κοινού Ευρωπαϊκού Πλαισίου

Αναφοράς για τις Γλώσσες και κατά πόσο αυτό το Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς έχει

θέσει στην Καναδική Εκπαιδευτική Πραγματικότητα.

Στο Αναλυτικό Πρόγραμμα κάθε τάξης-επιπέδου λαμβάνονται επίσης υπόψη:

α) οι βασικές αρχές για τη διδασκαλία δεύτερης/ξένης γλώσσας και οι σύγχρονες

επικοινωνιακές παιδαγωγικές θεωρίες και μέθοδοι διδασκαλίας και

αξιολόγησης,

β) η σύνδεση της αγγλικής με την ελληνική γλώσσα, κυρίως μέσα από την

πληθώρα λέξεων-εκφράσεων ελληνικής προέλευσης που ήδη γνωρίζουν οι

μαθητές από το πρωινό τους σχολείο,

γ) η ηλικία και το στάδιο γνωστικής, συναισθηματικής και ψυχολογικής

ανάπτυξης των μαθητών,

δ) το φυσικό, πολυπολιτισμικό και κοινωνικό περιβάλλον του Καναδά και της

ελληνικής παροικίας στην οποία συμμετέχουν οι μαθητές,

ε) οι νέες τεχνολογίες και οι δυνατότητες εκπαιδευτικής και παιδαγωγικής

αξιοποίησης ηλεκτρονικών πηγών και εργαλείων του διαδικτύου,

παραδοσιακούς χορούς και τραγούδια, λαογραφία, θρησκευτικά, στοιχεία

ιστορίας, μυθολογίας, γεωγραφίας και καλές τέχνες.

CURRICULUM DESCRIPTION

NEW MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE CURRICULUM: PAIDEIA

In an effort to reform Greek Language and Heritage Programs, the Greek

Community of Toronto leads the way by collaborating with University

Professors and Educators from Greece and Canada in order to develop a

Modern Greek Language Curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs and

interests of students who learn Greek as a second/foreign language. It is our

true conviction that all students of Greek Heritage should attend Greek

Language and Heritage Programs, and for this reason we are introducing the

first part of “Paideia”. “Paideia” is a complete education program that

integrates the teaching of language and culture in a proficiency-based model,

and it aims to meet the learning needs of students whose first language is not

Greek. The syllabus for each grade level will contain 30 units that will address

the learning needs of students who study Greek, from kindergarten to the end

of secondary education (6-18 years old). This syllabus will be an invaluable

tool for all organizations which aspire to support Greek Language and

Heritage studies. Although, it will be designed to meet the needs of schools

with an intensive Greek language program (i.e., Aristotelis), “Paideia” will

easily be adopted by less comprehensive programs, due to its structure,

clarity, and the classification of learning objectives according to educational

value. In September of 2014 our teachers will begin to implement the

curriculum for the elementary grades (K-6). To guarantee the success of this

program, we have not limited “Paideia” to the sole development of a

curriculum document... In addition to this, we will be developing student

books and the respective teachers’ guides for the elementary and the

secondary grades. The estimated date of completion of “Paideia” is September

of 2018. Until this date, our schools will continue to implement Greek

Language programs that are recognized by the Greek Ministry of Education. In

the school year of 2014-2015, our teachers will be able to utilize the

curriculum for the elementary grades (K-6), the student books for grades 1, 3,

and 5, and the teachers’ guides for the aforementioned grades. We invite you

to embrace and support this important undertaking to reform and upgrade

Greek Language Education.

“Paideia” is a Modern Greek Language, Literature and Heritage Program which

integrates the teaching of language and culture in a proficiency-based model,

and it aims to meet the learning needs of students whose first language is not

Greek, and it is based on the latest research and theoretical frameworks in the

field of language instruction. Specifically, the development of “Paideia” is based

on the following:

An effective Greek literacy syllabus will meet the following requirements:

a) It will approach the instruction of Modern Greek as a second or additional

language, since the majority of students live in a purely English speaking

environment. The new language syllabus is based on international best-

practice models for the instruction of international languages. It integrates

the teaching of language and culture in a proficiency-based model that caters

for students from all backgrounds.

b) It will take into account the Ontario curricula for English, and for the

International Languages programs, and it will incorporate elements (teaching

and learning strategies, assessment tools etc.) that are familiar to students

and will further enhance students’ Greek language learning. Additionally, it

will take into account the document “Working with the Common European

Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in the Canadian Context:

Guide for policy-makers and curriculum designers”. This is an effort intended

to generate reflection among ministries of education and local jurisdictions,

such as school boards, universities, and research centres, with respect to the

potential use of the CEFR in the Canadian context. It provides possible

avenues of direction to policy-makers and curriculum designers with regard

to the use of the CEFR in the Canadian context, taking into account Canadian

concepts of language teaching, learning, and assessment, recent research

developments, and innovative programs that have been implemented in

Canadian provinces and territories for over 30 years. This initiative is part of

an ongoing societal response shaped by citizen mobility and by increasing

numbers of multicultural and multilingual newcomers to Canada.

c) It will be in accordance to the guidelines stipulated by Greek Legislation in

regards to the acquisition of language skills and the respective levels of Greek

Language Proficiency. Specifically, the levels of attainment of all aspects of the

Greek language are defined by the Common European Framework of

References for Languages: Learning, teaching, assessment. The Common

European Framework provides a common basis for the elaboration of

language syllabuses, curriculum guidelines, examinations, textbooks, etc.

across Europe. It describes in a comprehensive way what language learners

have to learn to do in order to use a language for communication and what

knowledge and skills they have to develop so as to be able to act effectively.

The description also covers the cultural context in which language is set. The

Framework also defines levels of proficiency which allow learners’ progress to

be measured at each stage of learning and on a life-long basis.

Principals and Key Features of “Modern Greek Paideia”

A. It is modern, as it aims to:

• Utilize contemporary and research based teaching theories, which will

enable instructors to apply the most effective teaching approaches.

• Introduce active and cooperative learning, which enhance student

participation in various learning environments that promote communication.

Thus, every student’s learning is whole and envelops all aspects of language

(listening, speaking, reading, writing, etc.).

• Develop multi-literacies, which allow students to construct meaning from

the cultural and linguistic features that are present in Greek Culture and

Language.

• Cultivate cognitive and metacognitive language learning strategies.

• Promote bilingual awareness, and help students make connections between

English and Greek.

• Enhance students' creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills.

• Apply alternative forms of assessment, (personal learning plan, student

portfolio, self and peer assessment etc.).

B. It is balanced, as it aims to:

• Introduce a “balanced approach” to Greek language education. This will lead

to the utilization and construction of a wide variety of materials that support

differentiated instruction. Additionally, this syllabus will highlight a host of

different elements that can be found in a contemporary literacy program, (i.e.,

teaching resources and tools, methods of instruction and assessment, etc.).

This “balanced approach” will be beneficial to all students.

• Catalog different learning activities and teaching techniques, which meet the

needs, interests and learning profiles of all students.

C. It is student-centered and inclusive, as it aims to:

• Utilize students’ prior knowledge, and attainment level

• Meet diverse needs and interests

• Satisfy different learning styles (sensory, multimodal learning environment)

• Engage all students in the learning process

D. It is cross-curricular, as it aims to:

• Organize and connect content with the culture, history and traditions of

Greece

• Organize and connect content with the culture, history and traditions of

Canada

• Promote intercultural awareness

E. It is Detailed, as it aims to:

• Provide complete lesson plans and solid guidance to all Greek language

teachers. Learning expectations, fundamental and secondary, will be explicit

and easy to comprehend. Similarly, teaching strategies will be specific and

easy to adopt and to be applied in the classroom. Thus, the syllabus will be a

perfect companion to all educators involved in Greek Language Education,

regardless of whether they are certified teachers or not.

F. It is flexible, as it aims to:

• Support language programs of different schools, with a variety of learning

objectives. Specifically, the syllabus will differentiate learning expectations for

each unit according to level of educational value. Therefore, schools with

more intensive programs (i.e., Aristotelis) can adopt the whole content of the

syllabus; whereas schools with less comprehensive programs (i.e., St.

Demetrios) will be able to focus on the fundamental and most important

learning objectives that are outlined in the syllabus. Finally, due to the fact

that “Modern Greek Paideia” integrates the teaching of language and culture

in a proficiency-based model, students have the ability to enter at different

points, depending on their language proficiency.

ADULT PROGRAM – ΠΡΟΓΡΑΜΜΑ ΕΝΗΛΙΚΩΝ

Beginner Greek

This beginners' course assumes no knowledge of the Greek language. The

focus is on speaking using simple grammar through intensive class

participation. By course end, the student will be able to participate in everyday

situations, such as using appropriate greetings, requesting and giving

information, expressing likes and dislikes, giving opinions and relating past,

present and future events at a basic level.

Intermediate Greek I

This course is ideal for students who have had some previous exposure to

Greek or have completed Beginner Greek. This course is also designed for

people with equivalent language skills that include basic grammar and

conversation. Students will also learn more advanced grammar and

vocabulary, verb conjugations and other activities through contemporary

teaching styles.

Intermediate Greek II

This course is designed for those who have completed Intermediate Greek I. It

is also open to those who have equivalent language skills. Students will learn

how to express themselves at a more complex and subtle level and they will

continue to learn more difficult grammatical structures and idiomatic

expressions, so as to be ready for the Advanced Greek program.

Advanced Greek

The Advanced course assumes proficient knowledge of the Greek language.

Advanced grammar and syntax will be instructed for this course. Building

upon the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills acquired in the

previous three levels, there will be a greater focus on gaining more fluency in

conversation, expanding vocabulary and using more complex grammatical

structures. Greek heritage and contemporary culture will be explored during

the course. The objective of this pro- gram is to prepare students to write the

Ellinomatheia exam.

ΕΞΕΤΑΣΕΙΣ ΕΛΛΗΝΟΜΑΘΕΙΑΣ

GREEK LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY EXAMS

ΕΓΡΑΦΕΣ: 1 Φεβρουαρίου – 22 Μαρτίου

Η EKT έχει οριστεί ως εξεταστικό κέντρο για την πιστοποίηση της Ελληνομάθειας από το Κέντρο Ελληνικής Γλώσσας του Υπουργείου Παιδείας της Ελλάδας. Οι κάτοχοι του πιστοποιητικού Ελληνομάθειας εξασφαλίζουν διεθνή αναγνώριση του γλωσσικού τους επιπέδου και μπορούν να το χρησιμοποιήσουν για σπουδές σε ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια ή για επαγγελματικούς λόγους. Το πρόγραμμα σπουδών της ΕΚΤ βασίζεται στις αρχές διδασκαλίας της ελληνικής ως ξένης/ δεύτερης γλώσσας και ακολουθεί τα επίπεδα και τους επιμέρους στόχους που εξετάζονται στο πλαίσιο της πιστοποίησης επάρκειας της ελληνομάθειας. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δίνεται στην καλλιέργεια και των τεσσάρων δεξιοτήτων, με τη χρήση στρατηγικών μάθησης τόσο του προφορικού όσο και του γραπτού λόγου και πρακτικών εφαρμογών μέσα στην τάξη για κάθε δεξιότητα. Κοινός στόχος του προγράμματος είναι η λειτουργική χρήση της γλώσσας από τους μαθητές. Στην πρωτοβάθμια εκπαίδευση (νηπιαγωγείο ως 8η τάξη), το αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα των σχολείων μας προβλέπει την πιστοποίηση των μαθητών μας στα επίπεδα Α1 (για μαθητές ως 12 ετών) και Α2 (για μαθητές ως 14 ετών). Ακολούθως, στη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευση (Credit School), επιδιώκεται η πιστοποίηση των μαθητών μας στα επίπεδα Β1 (τάξεις 9η - 10η) και Β2 (τάξεις 11η - 12η). Παράλληλα οι μαθητές που ξεκινούν την ελληνόγλωσση εκπαίδευση για πρώτη φορά από την 9η τάξη μπορούν να πιστοποιηθούν τον επόμενο χρόνο στο επίπεδο Α1 για εφήβους και να συνεχίσουν στα επόμενα επίπεδα ανάλογα με την πρόοδό τους στη γλώσσα. Το ίδιο ισχύει και για τους μαθητές των τμημάτων ενηλίκων. Με την βοήθεια των εκπαιδευτικών μας, που είναι ειδικευμένοι στα επίπεδα της Ελληνομάθειας, ο

στόχος μας είναι να ενθαρρύνουμε τους μαθητές μας να συμμετέχουν στις εξετάσεις, για να

διαπιστώσουν τι μαθαίνουν στο ελληνικό σχολείο και να λάβουν ένα επίσημο πιστοποιητικό που

αναγνωρίζεται διεθνώς.

REGISTRATIONS: February 1 - March 22

The GCT has been appointed as an examination centre for the Ellinomatheia Exams from the Centre of the Greek Language of the Greek Ministry of Education. It is the only official test to examine the second/foreign language learners in their various skills in Greek. People who obtain the Ellinomatheia certification are recognized worldwide for their language qualifications, which can be used to study in universities in Greece or for professional reasons. The GCT’s curriculum is based on the precept of Greek being a second/foreign language and follows

both the levels and objectives which are tested for in the Ellinomatheia exams. A special emphasis

is given towards the cultivation of the four educational objectives, using strategic lessons to make

sure that both the oral and written communication criteria have been met at each level. A common

objective of the program is the functional usage of the language by the students. For elementary school students (kindergarten to Grade 8), our curriculum allows students to obtain

certification for levels A1 (for students until 12 years of age) and A2 (for students until 14 years of

age). For the secondary level (Credit School), students should be certified in levels B1 (grades 9 and

10) and B2 (grades 11 and 12). Students who begin their education in Greek for the first time in Grade 9 can obtain the A1

certification for teenagers, after which they can continue on to obtain the rest of the certifications as

they progress in learning the language. The same applies for students of the Adult Greek program. With the help of our educators, who are specially trained in the levels of Ellinomatheia, our purpose

is to encourage our students to take part in the exams, enabling themselves to assess what they are

learning at Greek school and to obtain an official certificate recognized worldwide.

ΗΛΕΚΤΡΟΝΙΚΗ ΜΑΘΗΣΗ

Όλοι οι μαθητές των σχολείων και προγραμμάτων της ΕΚΤ έχουν πρόσβαση στο πρόγραμμα ηλεκτρονικής μάθησης που ξεκίνησε σε πιλοτική φάση τη σχολική χρονιά 2011-12. Τα σχολεία της ΕΚΤ συμμετέχουν στο δίκτυο ηλεκτρονικής μάθησης που ξεκίνησε τον Ιανουάριο του 2012, με τη συμμετοχή σχολείων και τμημάτων ελληνικής γλώσσας από όλον τον κόσμο. Το φιλόδοξο αυτό πρόγραμμα επιδοτείται από το Υπουργείο Παιδείας της Ελλάδας και την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση ονομάζεται «Ελληνόγλωσση Πρωτοβάθμια και Δευτεροβάθμια Διαπολιτισμική Εκπαίδευση στη Διασπορά» και εκπονείται από το ΕΔΙΑΜΜΕ του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης. Στόχος του προγράμματος είναι να αναπτυχθεί σε ψηφιακή μορφή πάνω σε μια διαδραστική ηλεκτρονική πλατφόρμα, όλο το διδακτικό υλικό που προσφέρεται για την ελληνόγλωσση εκπαίδευση στη διασπορά.

Η πλατφόρμα αυτή θα χρησιμοποιηθεί από μαθητές και δασκάλους τόσο στη τάξη όσο και για εξ αποστάσεως διδασκαλία γλώσσας, πολιτισμού και ιστορίας. Παράλληλα μέσω του προγράμματος αυτού γίνονται συνεργασίες μεταξύ σχολείων, εκπαιδευτικών και αδελφοποιήσεις τάξεων, συγκροτώντας κοινότητες μάθησης. Έτσι, τα σχολεία της ΕΚΤ θα επικοινωνούν με άλλα ομογενειακά κέντρα στον Καναδά, τις ΗΠΑ, την Ευρώπη, την Αυστραλία, κλπ.

E-LEARNING

All the students of the GCT schools and programs have access to the e-Learning program, which began as a pilot project during the 2011-2012 school year.

Schools of the GCT take part in a web-based learning project, which began in January 2012. In this project, several Greek language schools and programs participate from all over the world. Sponsored by the Greek Ministry of Education and the European Union, the “Greek Language Primary, Jr. High and High School Education in the Diaspora” is run by the EDIAMME department of the University of Crete. The aim of this program is to help network and organize Greek language instruction online by utilizing an e-platform.

This platform will be used by students and teachers for interactive or distance-based lessons on language, culture and history. Through this program, a network will be set up amongst schools, student groups and “sister classes” which will form learning communities. Thus, the Greek Community schools will be able to communicate with other centres of the omogenia, including other parts of Canada, the United States of America, Europe, Australia, etc.
