TECHNOLOGIES

During my planning I used software such as Microsoft Office Word and Microsoft

Office Power point. I used these for analysing existing magazines, creating

questionnaires and proposals. When uploading my work to blogger.com I used slide

share.

When producing my cover, contents and double page spread I used Adobe

Photoshop CS3 and Adobe In Design CS3. These programmes allowed me to

make the magazine look exactly how I wanted it. They also allowed me to make

changes whilst seeing what looked best and what didn’t.

COVERMy main image was originally facing

the opposite way to how it is seen

on the cover now. I changed this

because I wanted the cover lines to

be on the left, not the image. I did

this by selecting Image then Rotate

Canvas and then ‘Flip canvas

horizontal’.

I also edited my photo, to make it

brighter and look more professional. I

did this by selecting ‘image’ then

‘adjustments’ and then played around

with auto levels and

‘Brightness/contrast’.

COVER

The main image on my

front cover originally had a

white brick wall behind

it, however I did not want

this background on my

cover. I used the magnetic

lasso tool to cut the

background out and just

leave the head and body of

my artist. This makes the

image look a lot brighter

and creates Mise en scene

of the artist being in the

spot light.

CONTENTSTo make the text stand out and

look professional I used ‘Drop

Shadow’. On the right hand

side of the screen I clicked on

the layer that I wanted to

edit, then I clicked on the ‘fx’

button.

Then selected ‘Drop shadow’

and then I changed the levels

according to how big I wanted

the shadow to be.

I used this tool for most

of my magazine.
