Forming participles

To form the past tense and the past participle do follow the rules listed below: Add “d” or “ed”▪ Walk= walked

When a regular verb ends with a consonant PRECEDED by “Y”, change the “Y” to “I” before adding “ED”.▪ Try=tried

When a one-syllable verb ends with a consonant PRECEDED by a vowel, double the consonant BEFORE adding “ED”.▪ Drop= dropped
