GuardS Polo club Cartier Queen’s Cup - 22 Goal - May 20 to June 15, 2014

Fifteen teams have entered the 2014 Cartier Queen’s Cup competition at Guards Polo Club. There are some new

names in the list, including Texan John Muse and his Lucchese team. Other patrons dipping their toe into the high-goal water for the first time are Hilali Noordeen and his Sifani Polo Team and Vichai Srivaddhanprabha’s King Power squad. The Fox and Hounds team is also a new line up for this season, featuring four young British professional players who are supported by Haim Perry’s Fox and Hounds Restaurant and Bar, located adjacent to Guards Polo Club at Bishop-sgate entrance to Windsor Great Park. Lyndon Lea’s Zacara squad is return-ing to this competition, sponsored by Cartier for the third time, to defend their title and once again will feature the 10-goal skills of Facundo Pieres. Facundo is one of six 10-goalers competing in this tournament and other members of this elite club are Facundo’s older brother Gonzalito, who is playing for King Power, Juan Martin Nero (Taland-racas); Pelon Stirling (El Remanso), Adolfo Cambiaso (Dubai) and Pablo MacDonough (UAE Polo Team). The draw for this 22-goal competition takes place next Tuesday (13 May) at Guards Polo Club and the first matches start a week later, on 20 May. The final will be played at Guards Polo Club on Sunday 15 June, historically played in the presence of HM The Queen.
