This has been a very difficult time for our family and will continue to need your prayers. Thank you all, May God Bless. The Falls Family. We Need To Pray Salt and Sonshine By Pastor/Teacher, James R. Paxton Listening to the news Sun- day night I heard a report that is very distressing to me. The newscaster said that one hour after the super bowl was over a missile flew over the city of San Francisco, Califor- nia. They said it had been launched by North Korea. Someone said it was one hour late in getting to our country. It was supposed to arrive dur- ing the game. I hope that con- cerns you as it does me. My concern is this. Why was that missile not shot down long before it approached the coastline of the United States? Suppose it had been an armed missile, perhaps even with a nuclear warhead. North Ko- rea is a rogue nation and they would love to kill Americans. They said it was only a test rocket. What kind of test? They have proven that they have the ability to reach our nation with disaster. I say it again. Why was that missile not destroyed long before it got near our shores? Secretary of State Kerry mumbled that it was not ac- ceptable and would not be tolerated. I have heard noth- ing from the White House or Congress either for that matter except that the Presi- dent wanted to talk to North Korea. The next missile may not be just a test or just pass overhead. Am I fearful of what might be next? No, not for myself. I believe God is watching over me. I am concerned for the sake of the people of San Francisco or Los Angeles or San Diego or Seattle. Next time, if there should ever be a next time, it might deliver horrendous consequences. Perhaps the next missile will originate from Iran and might not be just a test. Will we wait to see if it is armed? Somebody needs to wake up. We are only one mis- sile away from disaster and a world war. Is there hope? Certainly! Read II Chroni- cles 7:14 which declares “ If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Our President has declared that we are no longer a Christian nation. Are we? Someone once said the words to the effect of “if we were ac- cused of being a Christian na- tion, would there be enough evidence to convict us? I pray that the answer would overwhelmingly be YES! Maranatha! Editor’s note: Research of major news outlets indicates that the launch which was vis- ible immediately following the Super Bowl was a North Ko- rean Satellite, not a missile. John G. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www. carlwilsonfuneralhomee.com But of that day and hour knoweth no man, noHave you ever stopped to think how im- portant it is to have certain things recorded? In our state, most license you obtain require they are recorded. It is vital for a deed to property to be recoreded. If you buy a preprty and borrow money, the back will record the mortgage on it. The record is the evience of transaction which has occurred. It is public and it is proof. There were seventy follow- ers of Jesus Christ who returned to him with great amazement. And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord even the devils are subject unto us through thy name, Luke 10:17. No wonder they were thrilled. They were enjoying the power he had given to them through his name. We would have been excited too. However, Jesus gives them a word of caution. While it great to be eyewit- ness to these things we should never forget the main thing. Jesus said, not with standing in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven, Luke 10:20. With all the great things we see the Lord do for each one of us nothing is more important than salvation? Jesus also reminds them that they not only have life but also their name is written in Heaven. It is referred to as the Lamb’s Book of Life, Revelation 13:8, 21:27, 20:15. There is a re- cord of our of our name when we are born again. We may not always do the things we would like to do but we still rejoice because of our name is written down. It is wonder- ful we know when we were born again but we still to let others know too. Christianity does not begin with religious views and no- tions. It comes as a new life as regeneration, conversion, and sanctification, set apart from the profane and made holy for holy use. It releases humanity from the guilt and power of sin and put us in a right relationship with God. Jesus Christ calls himself the way, the truth and the life. Remember, The only thing you can really control in this life is your own mental attitude. As a christian, I have an end- less hope not a hopeless end. Enjoy the little things one day you may look back and real- ize they were the big things. Rejoice because your name is recorded or written in Heaven in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Is your name recorded in Heaven? By Lee Roy Anderson Clay County Free Press has an opening for a part-time position covering government meetings and assisting in the office.
