She was born in Freemon, South Dakota on Feb. 24, 1927, one of 11 children to the late Paul and Mary Wipf Wollmann. She was born in South Dakota, but re- sided most of her adult life in Chicago, Ill. Her son Andrew Wipf preceded her in death. Harbison, Brandenburg; three children, Teresa A Harbison, Brandenburg, Mark (Karen) Vowels, Scott, Ark., and Joseph “Beaver” (Cheryl) Vowels, Elizabethtown, Ky.; two sisters, Marian (Fred) Schindler, Philadelphia, Pa., and Joan Lingenfelter, Pa.; eight grandchildren, April, Amber, Melissa, Jennifer, Michael, Lesley, Alex and Amanda; and five great-grandchildren. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He had retired from U.S. Airways with 33 years of service. Since retiring he worked several part-time jobs. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.” To me, this says that God is Minister’s Corner not just the God of Israel, or just the God of Christians, but that He is God of all the nations, He is the God of the whole world. And just as God is proclaiming Him- self over the nations, God will also hold each nation accountable for their actions. Jeremiah quoted God as saying this, “If I announce that a certain nation or king- dom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned. And if I announce that I will build up and plant a certain nation or kingdom, making it strong and great, but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless that nation as I had said I would.” You may not be able to change the direc- tion of a nation, but you can change your own direction in honoring God and seek- ing Him, looking to Jesus Christ for forgiveness. In that way you can avoid your own judgment from God. She  was  preceded  in  death  by  her  parents,  Benja-min Horace and Iona Briles Conrad; her husband, Har-old  Scott,  Jr.;  a  step‐son,  John  Andrew  Scott;  a  grand-son,  Billy  Kern,  Jr.;  and  three  brothers,  Arthur  Al-len Conrad, Bill Adams and Earl Adams.

She is survived by three children, Harold Scott, III, Heav-en Lee Scott, both of Wolf Creek, Ky., and Elizabeth Ja-nette Kern, Ekron, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Alice Smith, Lit-tle Bend, Ky., and Janet Gail Rice, Salem, Ind.; a broth-er,  Kenneth  Mark  Conrad,  Elizabethtown,  Ky.; eight  grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral  services  were  held  Aug. 10 from  the  Cha-pel  of  the  Hager  Funeral  Home.  Burial  fol lowed in Parr Frans Cemetery.

WILLIaM “Wt” thoMas sIPes

William (WT) Thomas Sipes, hus-band, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and great-uncle, died July 30, 2015.

He was born June 13, 1932 in Gar-rett, Kentucky to Sudie Greenwell and Richard Sipes. He married Kiyoko Kariya Aug. 14, 1953 at the American

Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. He is survived by his wife, Kiyoko; his daughters

Sharon Sipes and Bobbi (Dan) Sipes Martin; his grand-children Jason (Lisa) Smith, Joey Stephens and Ashley Martin; great-grandchildren Kolten (Sarah) Smith and Kyle Yepez; brothers Eddie (Deanie) Sipes, John Sipes and Alan (Theresa) Sipes; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a civilian employee of the USAF as Chief of three separate divi-sions. After his retirement, he devoted himself to caring for his handicapped granddaughter, Joey.

Ernest O’Dell Wilkins, 89, Vine Grove, Ky. died Aug. 2, 2015 at North Hardin Health & Rehabilitation Center, Radcliff, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris E. Wilkins; a daughter, Ann Langley; his parents, Chester and Mardecic (Bell) Wilkins; and a mother-in-law, Ida Bell Boaz.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Fay (John) Coslick Arlington, WA, Mary Lou (Andy) Condon, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one son, Chet Wilkins, Radcliff; eight grandchildren, Mark Langley, Rondale Langley, Scott Langley, Theresa James, Ernest Coslick, Jeff Con-don, Christina Wilkins, Candy Ennis; 15 great-grand-children; and one sister, Ruby Sholar, Hopkinsville, Ky.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Coffey & Chism Funeral Home, Vine Grove, with Pastor Johnny Craig officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the North Hardin Memorial Gardens, Radcliff.

Michael “Mike” Dwayne Wilson, 36, Rineyville, Ky., died July 30, 2015 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabeth-town, Ky.

He is survived by his son Michael Patrick Lee Wilson, Bowling Green, Ky.; his mother, Annette (Tom) Martin, Rineyville, Ky.; his father, Charles Wil-son, Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister Jessica

(Mike) Anderson, Cecilia, Ky.; a brother, Joey Wilson, Indianapolis, and his fiance’ Jessica Hutter and her chil-dren, Christopher and Camdon, Rineyville.

The funeral service were held Aug. 3 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove, Ky. Pastor Lee Brickey officiated. Burial followed in Vine Grove Cem-etery, Vine Grove.

Obadiah wrote the short-est book in the Old Testa-ment, but it doesn’t always require a lot of words to make God’s point. God had a message for the people of Edom. They were cousins of the Israelites, yet when Jerusalem was destroyed by enemies, the Edomites par-ticipated in the looting of the city. They thought they got away with it because Israel was in no condition to retali-ate. Yet God was watching. The Edomites would suffer judgment because of the unprovoked attack on their relatives. Then Obadiah makes this statement, “For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head.” To me, this says that God is

Minister’s Corner not just the God of Israel, or just the God of Christians, but that He is God of all the nations, He is the God of the whole world. And just as God is proclaiming Him-self over the nations, God will also hold each nation accountable for their actions. Jeremiah quoted God as saying this, “If I announce that a certain nation or king-dom is to be uprooted, torn down, and destroyed, but then that nation renounces its evil ways, I will not destroy it as I had planned. And if I announce that I will build up and plant a certain nation or kingdom, making it strong and great, but then that nation turns to evil and refuses to obey me, I will not bless that nation as I had said I would.” You may not be able to change the direc-tion of a nation, but you can change your own direction in honoring God and seek-ing Him, looking to Jesus Christ for forgiveness. In that way you can avoid your own judgment from God.
