General Baptist Today I want to ask the question, how much faith do we really need? I recently heard a certain preacher on the radio talking about how we need a great amount of faith in order to live the victorious life God wants for us. He said that our faith starts out small, like a mustard seed, but that it doesn’t stay that way. I agree that faith starts out small and grows as we experience more of the results of faith. However, I think we have to be careful to always give God the credit for whatever amount of faith we have. In Matt. 7:27-34 we have the story of Jesus healing two blind men. He asked them, “Do you believe that Minister’s Corner I am able to do this?” “Yes Lord” was their reply. en Jesus said, “According to your faith will it be done to you.” How much faith was required for them to receive their healing? Not much. Just a simple “Yes Lord” was all that was required. In 2 Cor. 12:7-10, Paul tells us about a “thorn” in his flesh given to him to keep him humble. He pleaded with the Lord to take it away three times. e answer he got was: “My grace is suf- ficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Did Paul not have enough faith? No, he had the same faith as the blind men. He simply said “Yes Lord” to the all sufficient grace of God. Some say they are believ- ing God for a miracle. Maybe the miracle is just believing God. Faith-full- ness is one of the fruits of the Spirit as recorded in Gal. 5:22-23. Being full of faith is the result of living in rela- tionship with Jesus. Just say “yes Lord” and be faith-full.

Today I want to ask the question, how much faith do we really need?

I recently heard a certain preacher on the radio talking about how we need a great amount of faith in order to live the victorious life God wants for us. In 2 Cor. 12:7-10, Paul tells us about a “thorn” in his flesh given to him to keep him humble. He pleaded with the Lord to take it away three times. The answer he got was: “My grace is suf-ficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Did Paul not have enough faith? No, he had the same faith as the blind men. Some say they are believ-ing God for a miracle. Maybe the miracle is just believing God. Faith-full-ness is one of the fruits of the Spirit as recorded in Gal. 5:22-23. Being full of faith is the result of living in rela-tionship with Jesus. Just say “yes Lord” and be faith-full.
