Some Selected HIPE Changes• HCSS 11 has not been released yet but we are in the last
phases of testing.• Release Candidate (RC) 2 corresponds to CIB 11.0.2825. We
are working towards RC 3.• HIPE 11 will still work with Java 6, but the project moved to
Java 7 for HIPE 12.– Keep your Java version up to date!
• Lucene search library was updated. Faster, but leads to pool incompatibility with older HIPE versions. Yet, there are workarounds.
• New focal length corrections for star tracker give improved pointing reconstruction for OD > 320.
• Product browser: Memorizing layout of output table.• Documentation updates.

Lucene Library Update• HIPE uses the Lucene Library for many tasks involving
search and indexing, including the data pools and MyHSA.
• In HIPE 11 the Lucene library was updated from version 3.0 to 4.1.
• New pools created with HIPE 11 will not be readable anymore by prior versions of HIPE. However, HIPE 11 can read older pools and will offer to upgrade older pools to the new indices.
• If you accidentally upgraded an old pool and then need to read it again with a HIPE version <11, there is a procedure to “downgrade” a pool index. This is described in 1.11 of the Data Analysis Guide. (think twice before embarking on this and back up your data)

Product Browser Output Layout• In previous HIPE versions there were only two layouts and any modifications
lasted only for the current HIPE session.• The configured column layout will now be remembered in the next HIPE
session and displayed by default. Column width is unfortunately not kept.
