Proclamation 18-03

Statewide Furbearer Hunting and Trapping Seasons and Bag Limits (Exclusive of Wildlife Management Areas and Refuges)

Pursuant to the authority granted by Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 70-4-107 and 70-5-108, the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission hereby proclaims the statewide furbearer hunting and trapping seasons and bag limits effective August 1, 2018.

Section I. Hunting Seasons and Bag Limits

All harvested river otters must be tagged by harvester with a Tennessee US CITES tag.

All bobcats harvested in Tennessee being exported from the United States must be tagged with

a Tennessee US CITES tag.

No limit on opossum

Night defined as one 24-hour period commencing at sunset.

Section VI. Possession Limits

The possession limit for all species listed herein is twice the daily bag limit except opening day when it shall be the same as the daily bag limit.

Section VII. Special Regulations for Bear Reserves On Andrew Johnson, Kettlefoot, and Laurel Fork Bear Reserves, raccoon and opossum

hunting is prohibited one day before and during bear hunts that allow the use of hounds. During bear hunts that prohibit the use of hounds, raccoon and opossum hunters are limited to 2 dogs per vehicle.

On the Ocoee Bear Reserve, raccoon and opossum hunting is open the day after bear seasons end in Bear Hunt Zone 3 and runs until February 1. Hunters are limited to 2 dogs per vehicle.
