Basically, the EGR Plate is installed to block the EGR port & redirect the exhaust gasses back out via the Turbo. Meaning the turbo spools quicker (better performance). It also stops the soot from the exhaust clogging up the inlet manifold (clogging results in poor performance). So the vehicle produces higher NOx emissions (sold for offroad use only, because won’t pass emission testing), however the reduced throttle position & lower intake temperatures means the vehicle uses less diesel, has better performance and produces less soot & particulate matter. The Roadsafe 4WD range features 10 part numbers to cover the majority of sought after applications. The Roadsafe 4WD range also features a ‘slotted’ hole design, so the entire system does not have to be disassemble to install them. Basically, you just loosen a couple of bolts & slide the plate in against the gasket. Most will be mounted near the EGR on the inlet manifold - but they do differ depending upon the engine.

What are the Benefits of blocking the EGR Port?

- Cooler air intake temperatures - Lowered engine oil contamination- Increased performance - Increased engine life (cleaner oil!)- Cooler exhaust temperatures - No soot in intake - which keeps the- Increased turbo response boost/vacuum lines clean

What are the Negatives of blocking the EGR Port?

It is against the law to change the way the vehicles emission control systems function, subsequently EGR plates are sold for off road use only. By blocking the EGR port you increase your NOx emissions. The emission test for diesel occurs at the time of original engine certification. In Australia there is no road side testing for diesel exhaust emissions. (Correct as at 1/8/2014)
