Pact is an international NGO for development,
based in Washington DC Started in DRC in 2003 working on livelihoods,
economic development and child protection
It was clear that the mining sector was a majorforce in conflict and development

PROMINES is a technical assistance project of
the World Bank, co-funded by DFID, to workwith the DRC government to restructure theCongolese mining sector
Objectives: Increase the volume and value of mineral
production
Strengthen the management capacity of the state
Increase the benefits of mineral exploitation intogrowth and development
