Platform for advanced Communication, Control and Security.Used around the world for a decade the PACCS suite of solutions has beendesigned and developed by experts with advanced OEM components from thegiants in telecommunications.

The Paccs-TelemetryC900, is an advanced telemetry interface. It will carry out a range oftelemetry functions and is one of the world’s most sophisticated remotely managedtelemetry systems offering numerous advantages over alternative technologies.

It will for example provide most radio telemetry requirements both high protocol andstandard logic. We also can provide for "smart" RS-232 Electricity, Gas and Watermeters or directly to "dumb" pulse output meters, providing low-cost Automatic MeterReading solutions. PACCS-TelemetryC900 is suitable for connection to AC, DC, solar andbattery power supplies, making it ideal for remote electricity, gas and water meter readingapplications.

Technical OverviewThe PACCS-TelemetryC900 philosophy isbased on experience gained while workingwith associated Power Line Carriercommunications in the early 1990’s.Our packet switching technology wasdeveloped to fulfill the need for remoteautomatic meter reading of Electricity, Gasand Water meters.W&W was one of the first OEMs in Australiato see the advantages of packet switchedcommunications in a remote informationgathering and control application.The philosophy of combining datacompression with a “State of the Art”microprocessor allows a project to beconfigured for many different applicationsand upgrades which may not be identified atthe project design stage. Hence Whole-of-Life costs are reduced to a minimum.

Introduction to the PACCS-TELEMETRYC900™ unitThe PACCS-TELEMETRYC900™ field unitcombines thebenefits of smart compression algorithmswith local onboard processing and memory.The product is unique in being able tocompress the data “On-the-Fly”.The on-board microprocessor architectureallows multi tasking and hence can beconfigured for user or application specificconfigurations. It can be used in a StandAlone mode or with a GATEWAY whichenables gathered data to be processed by PCprograms.The PACCS-TelemetryC900™ unit has beendeveloped tomaximize packet efficiency and hence reduceoperating costs of its applications. Should thesignal deteriorate(due to the source moving for example) theW&W unit is able to track message packets,which may arrive out of sequence, and then

confirm message integrity.PACCS-TelemetryC900™ offers 3 datatransfer modes via either SMS/GPRS orCSDC. Positional information is available -with an optional GPS modem.We are the only product of this class in theworld, able to offer time stamping ± 5secregardless of network latency.Additional costs attributed to dropout areminimal. Commonly switched packed deviceson losing network connection need to beswitched OFF and ON for example to regainconnection. The ability to maintainconnection is a feature of the PACCS-TelemetryC900.

Power SourceAlthough a DC and AC version of thePaccs-telemetry is available, some remoteapplications call for battery Back Up.
