A Letter from the President

Dear Pacific Rim Elementary Families and Friends,

The Pacific Rim PTA welcomes you to the 2015 Mardi Gras Gala! Tonight we see what makes our

school community so special: a willingness to come together to support our students, teachers

and staff to ensure the learning experience at our school remains exceptional.

Tonight’s Live and Silent Auction and Casino Night Raffles will serve as the Pac Rim PTA’s largest

fundraiser. Money raised this evening will support programs including Physical Education,

Credentialed Assistants, Teacher Supplies and Field Trips, to name a few. Every child at our

school will benefit from the money donated tonight. So the real measure of tonight’s success is

YOU. Please bid generously and often this evening.

This evening is possible due to the efforts of the exceptional gala and auction team: Tracy

Goldey, Emily Edelman Field, Ann Kann, Krista Provo, Erin Carenzo, Gina Fogarty (our teacher

rep), Dhara Patel, Lulu Bouillon, Ben Chapman, GrapeVine Productions, Maria Miracco and Ms.

Smith and the Waverider News Team. The PTA would also like to acknowledge the tireless efforts

of our Pac Rim PTA Board Members, Room Moms, and all of the Pac Rim families and local

businesses who donated items to the auction.

General Auction Rules

All sales are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items except where specified.

Bids made during the silent and live auctions are legal contracts to purchase an item.

Values set forth are estimates only, supplied by the Donor. Each item is sold as is, without any

warranty and without representation to the actual value of any item. Please note this Catalog

makes a good faith effort to list all those items available for auction, and makes every effort to

ensure the accuracy of the descriptions and values of auction items; however we are not

responsible for mistakes, omissions or other errors made in good faith.

Payment must be made in full for auction items on the evening of the Gala. Payments must be

made in full with cash, check or credit card (registered on the night of the Gala. You are

responsible for removing all purchased auction items prior to leaving the Gala.

Pacific Rim PTA makes no express or implied warranties on items, other than those from the

manufacturer. To avoid disappointment, contact the donors of purchased items as soon as

possible to make necessary arrangements to claim your prize. Pacific Rim PTA and the donor of

the gifts are not responsible for any personal injuries or damages which may result from

properties or services.

Silent Auction

Silent auction items will be assigned a number with the bid sheets on a clipboard located near

the item. Bid sheets include the item number and the pre-assigned minimum bid amount. Each

item will be assigned a “Buy it Now” price. At any time during open bidding, a Bidder may write

their name or Bid Number next to the “Buy it Now” price which closes all further bidding for that

item. All bidding on silent auction items will cease at the Gala after a five-minute warning by the

auctioneer. At the closing, all Silent bidding must stop.

Live Auction

The live auction will be during dinner and continue without interruption until all items have been

auctioned. All items will have a minimum bid, and the Pacific Rim PTA reserves the right to

withdraw auction items should the minimum bid not be offered. Bidders must raise big cards high

enough to attract the attention of auctioneer. Spotters will be in the room to assist the

auctioneer. Once bidding on an item has been declared closed, there will be no further

negotiation on the price, terms, or conditions of the item. Please make sure you understand the

restrictions, if any, prior to offering your bid. Decisions of the Auctioneer will be final.
