PASTOR’S COLUMN Dear Friends in Christ,
As I men oned last weekend during the APA presenta ons it is some-mes difficult to count people in the church. This is the me of year when our
numbers are on the high side. The winter visitors are with us and we are thrilled to hear that some even plan their vaca on me to be here to help with the an-nual Make Your Own Strawberry Shortcake Project. Even if you missed the start-up dinner last Tuesday it is not too late to sign up to volunteer for this wonderful project that truly brings the parish together on so many levels. As you may know, our Catholics Come Home adver sing blitz ended on January 22nd but the pre-blitz head count occurred in October, and this weekend has been targeted as the date for the post-blitz head count. The ushers at all of the masses have been instructed to take a careful count of everyone present at the liturgies this weekend. While it is the APA commitment weekend I am hopeful that the presenta on last weekend and the encouragement to pray for Divine guidance regarding your pledge for this year will be all you need to make a good decision of support. It’s the second Sunday of the month and you know what that means. Our focus for the 8:15am and 10:30am liturgies this weekend will be the youth of our parish. The high energy that is so much a part of the spirituality of wonderful Youth Ministry programs across the na on will not be lost on this APA commitment weekend. I wish to thank those who are par cipa ng in the 13th Annual Golf Tournament this weekend to support St. Clement Youth Ministry. Next weekend is the final green Sunday of the winter before we enter the sea-son of Lent. Consequently, I wish to encourage you to bring in your old blessed palms, if you have not yet done so, as they will be burned and used for ashes on Ash Wednesday just three days from next Sunday.
Peace in Christ,
Fr. Tom J. Anastasia, Pastor

One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church 2012 Annual Pastoral Appeal
Each year our parish and every parish in our Diocese is responsible for a por on of the financial obliga on it takes to meet the min-istry, programs and services of our catholic Church. Together, we are able to reach so many more in need than our parish could ever reach alone. By now you should have received at your home a personal invita on from Fr. Tom to par cipate in the 2012 Annual Pastoral Appeal, ONE HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC CHURCH. Please take the me to look through the brochure at the many Apostolic works of our Diocese, the many people that are served through this joining of resources and the wonderful generosity that has been shared. We should be very proud of what we can accomplish together, and I ask you in partnership with Bishop Lynch and all of the parishes in our diocese, to consider a gi /pledge to the Annual Pastoral Appeal, to benefit our parish and more importantly the many in need through-out the five coun es of our diocesan family. Every gi is valuable. Some mes it is hard to envision how your one gi could make a difference in an organiza-
on the size of our Diocese, but it does, each Catholic family, each parish, TO-GETHER, can fulfill the mission of our Church, to love and be Christ for one an-other. In trying mes our gi s from God may be more difficult to iden fy, God blesses each of us every day. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. Thank you for con nuing to support your parish and our diocesan faith community in so many ways.
THE YOUTH OF THE PARISH ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE OF ABORTION
On Wednesday, February 1st, the high school youth group spiritually adopted 38 unborn babies in danger of being aborted. A er listening intently to what abor on is and why abor on is immoral, the students made bracelets bearing the names of the babies for whom they would pray daily for nine months. The following Sunday, four of the students were spo ed at the KofC breakfast proudly wearing their bracelets for life. One young man in par cular said, “I’ve been praying every day”. That commitment could save a life.

Nuevos Feligreses . . .
¡Bienvenidos a Casa!
