1. Step one- Inventory radios

P-25 IDs will not be issued until inventory is completed.

Purpose is to eliminate any duplicate IDs that have been issued.

Send to Director of Emergency Operations Center and they will be forwarded to IPSC.

2. Step Two- Design Templates

Determine how many templates your agency will need?

CPD/Sheriff –work together to design a standard?

CFD/Co Fire – work together to design a standard?(example where Mutual Aid Channels are located more uniformed)

Determining who will design Templates?

*Option #1- pay vendor to design the Templates with the guarantee they will work correctly.

*Option #2 – Have the trained officers develop Templates- very time consuming and no guarantee they will work- this may take an extended amount of time and requires a lot of patience. IF this does not work, then it is possible a vendor will have to build them anyway.

Option #1- have trained personnel flash Templates in radios. Saves $50.00 per radio.

- Key information1. Batteries must be fully charged.2. Computer must not go into sleep mode.

3. If any of the above occurs radio cost approx. $300.004. Flashing takes approximately 30-60 mins. Per radio

Option #2- have vendor flash Templates in radios at $50.00 per radio.

County Fire Radio’s

1. Flash 300 radio’s- X $50.00 = $15,000.00

2. 4 Templates = $1800.00 2 for hand held 2500 and 5000 radio’s 2 for mobile radio’s in vehicles Template cost $450.00 each/10 depts. split cost $185.00

* It is possible that a hand held may need to be re-tuned approximate cost $75.00

per radio.
