ISO 14001 OPERATION CONTROL PROCESSAs per the guidelines in the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, customersare advised to carry out timely replacement of Engine, Front Fork and Brake oils,ONLY through a Royal Enfield Authorised Dealer / Service Center for the safe disposalof the used oils to prevent Environmental pollution.

In case the oils are replaced privately, it is advised to ensure the old/ removed oils arecollected carefully and reached to a certified disposal agency, nearest to you to safelydisposing the oils.

Similarly, hazardous wastes such as old/discarded Batteries, Tyres, Tubes, Cables,Gaskets, Oil filters etc. should also be disposed off carefully and properly only througha certified disposal agency.

CAUTIONUsing Non Recommended/ In-Correct oils, can cause serious damageto the moving parts, affect performance of the motorcycle AND voidthe warranty.

STEERING LOCK Turn the handle bar to extreme left or

right position. Switch “OFF” ignition, depress key and

turn.- Anticlockwise to Lock- Clockwise to unlock.

FUEL TANK CAP

Turn key clockwise to open.

Press cap to lock with key in position.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE INDICATION

Ambient temperature display can be changed from Celsius toFahrenheit and vice versa.

The temperature indication may increase during vehicle riding/engine ON condition due to increase of engine temperature.

Ambient temperature indication tolerance is + 2°C

Service reminder is provided to remind about service due. Spanner symbol will flash till vehicle is serviced at service center Service reminder can be reset ONLY by authorized personnel

at service center after service is completed Service reminder symbol will flash on as per below distance input

from odometer.i) 1 st service – 450 kmsii) 2 nd service – 4900 kmsiii) from there on for every 5000 kms from previous value

(ex: 9900,14900 etc.)

Trip A/B indicates distance travelled in particular trip. Avg A/B indicates average speed of vehicle in particular trip

mode.

TRIP “F” MODE

The word, Trip “F” will flash when the Trip “F” mode is active Trip “F” is provided to measure distance travelled by the vehicle

when fuel level in the vehicle is 5.5+0.5 lts. in the fuel tank sothat the rider can plan fuel filling accordingly based on his triprequirements, Trip “F” will get activated when needle on fuelgauge enters the red zone.

Trip F mode would come into function automatically. Trip F mode would de-activate automatically if fuel is filled above

5.5+0.5 lts. During Trip F mode rider can toggle between Trip A/B but mode

will return automatically to Trip “F” after 25+5 secs.

Battery indication will glow continuous:

When the battery charge is low/discharging.

“Side Stand” will be displayed when side stand is not retracted.

SIDE STAND INDICATOR

Displays the gear position in which the vehicle is traveling. When in neutral the indication will be “0” When in gear the appropriate number between 1 to 5 will be

displayed.

PRE OPERATIONAL CHECKSA careful check of the following must be carried out every time beforeriding and specially after long periods of storage to determine if anyadditional maintenance is necessary.

1. Tyres for correct pressure, abrasions or cuts.

2. Rear chain for proper tension and sufficient lubrication.

3. Brakes, steering and throttle for proper responsiveness.

4. Cables for fraying or crimping and free operation.

5. Engine oil level.

6. Wheel spokes for proper tightness and no breakage.

7. Headlamp, tail lamp, brake lamp and indicator lamps for properfunctioning.

WARNINGFor your personal welfare and safety, these pre-operational checksshould be performed periodically. Failure to do so may affect safeoperation, damage your motorcycle and could result in an accidentcausing serious injury.

SITTING POSTURECorrect sitting posture is a must for stable and safe riding. Sit with your shoulders completely relaxed. Do not lock your elbows and retain a slight bend to enable

maneuvering. Hold the handle grip close to its inner end. Lightly grip the fuel tank with your knees. Keep your toes in “straight ahead” direction. Before turning, look extensively in the rear view mirror, without

turning your head.BRAKING Use both front and rear brakes simultaneously for maximum

braking efficiency. While riding on wet or bad road conditions use brakes cautiously.

WARNINGApplying any one or both brakes suddenly may cause themotorcycle to skid.

SAFE & HAPPY RIDING

RIDING GEAR Motorcycle riding pants and jacket fitted with certified Armour. Motorcycle riding boots. Motorcycle riding gloves. ISI, DOT or SNELL certified helmet as applicable for rider and

pillion.

NOTEBright colored and reflective garments enable greater visibility toother road users especially at night.

CAUTIONLo ose clothing may get c aught on mo vi ng parts of themotorcycle. It might not allow the armour to be in the properplace for maximum protection. Excessive flapping might alsocause discomfort and greater fatigue.

RUNNING IN PERIODThe Himalayan Motorcycle is capable of consistent high speeds.However as with any new motorcycle, a “RUNNING-IN” procedureis essential to help in proper “Bedding-In” of the various moving partsin your motorcycle and to ahieve optimum performancesubsequently.1. During the first 2000 Kms of run, do not exceed the speed

limits as shown in the table below.2. Do not exceed maximum specified pay load.

3. Warm up the engine for a few minutes at idling speed to allowengine oil to lubricate all the moving parts in the engine beforeriding the motorcycle.

4. Avoid full throttle operation and do not ride at constant throttlecontinuously. Vary the speed by 10% while riding.

5. Avoid sudden accelerations and racing starts.6. Avoid prolonged full-throttle operation. Vary speed

STARTING Ensure Gear is in Neutral position and the Neutral lamp is

glowing in the Instrument Cluster. To shift into neutral, movethe motorcycle back and forth gently, while simultaneouslyshifting the gear.

CAUTIONDo not attempt to shift gears without moving the motorcycle backand forth as it will damage the gears mechanism.

GEAR SHIFTING, RIDING & STOPPING

CAUTIONThe clutch must be fully disengaged before attempting a gearshift. Failure to fully disengage the clutch may cause a jerky startOR stalling the engine besides causing damage to transmissionparts.

Press clutch lever towards the hand grip.

Press gear pedal with toe towards down to engage 1st gear. Gently open throttle and release clutch simultaneously. If clutch

is released suddenly, the engine may stall and cause a jerky start.NOTE

Always move the motorcycle in first gear position only.

When engine speed decreases or while climbing a gradient or runningat a reduced speed, shift to the appropriate lower gear to preventthe engine from stalling or straining to pull.

PARKING

Select a firm, flat surface. Extend side stand. Tilt the motorcycle to the left, till it is

supported firmly.

The following simple maintenance activities will help in maintainingyour motorcycle. However for an elaborate maintenance, werecommend you to get in touch with a Royal Enfield AuthorisedDealer / Service Center.

SIDE STAND PIVOTSApply a few drops of oil on the pivotsafter cleaning the area of dirt.

DRIVE CHAINClean the drive chain carefully. Apply chain lubricant whilesimultaneously rotating the rear wheel. Wipe off the excess lubricant.

Place motorcycle on its center standon a firm surface.

Warm up engine for a few minutes& switch off before checking oillevel.

The level is correct if the oil level is inthe middle of the oil level window.

HAND LEVER PIVOTS

Wipe the area free of dirt / grease.

Apply a few drops of oil on the pivots.

CAUTIONUsing Non Recommended/ In-Correct oils, can cause seriousdamage to the moving parts, affect performance of themotorcycle AND void the warranty.

CLEANING AND ADJUSTING PLUG GAP

SPARK PLUG

Remove spark plug using the plug spanner and tommy bar. Clean the insulator tip and electrodes of the plug carefully.

Check and set the electrode gap between 0.7 to 0.8 mm.

CAUTIONBrake fluid is highly corrosive and can cause damage to painted parts.Please ensure brake fluid does not spill on any part of the motorcycle.In the event of a spill, please clean the area immediately with a softcloth (preferably a wet cloth) to avoid damage.

Check fluid level is above “MIN”. If below “MIN”, top up with DOT 3 OR DOT 4, till level is between

“MIN” & “MAX”. Do not overfill. DO NOT mix DOT 3 & 4 brake fluids.

FRONT WHEEL REMOVAL Support front end of engine suitably such

that the front wheel is off the ground. Loosen pinch bolt on right fork end with

6 mm Allen key. Hold spindle on right side and remove

spindle nut and washer from left side. Support wheel and pull out spindle from

right side. Remove wheel along with wheel speed

sensor and spacer. Remove speedo sensor.

INSPECTION OF TYRES AND RIMS

Replace tyres if develop cuts, cracks wearunevenly, and if the lugs have worn outup to the “wear indicators” provided onthe side walls of the tyre.

Front RearSolo 1.75 kg/cm2 (25 PSI) 2.25 kg/cm2 (32 PSI)With Pillion 1.89 kg/cm2 (27 PSI) 2.39 kg/cm2 (34 PSI)

WARNINGDismantling and reassembly of the wheel shouldbe done ONLY by an experienced technician.

Use only recommended tyres & tubes, inflated to correct airpressure.

Periodically inspect :- Rims for spokes breakage, bends and rim run-out.- Tyres for proper seating of the beading on the rims, side wall

cracks, damages and cuts. Check and remove stone, splinters, nails or other sharp particles

embedded in the tyre.

Position wheel along with wheel speed sensor and spacer onleft side between the front fork legs, ensuring the brake disc islocated between the brake pads.

Rotate wheel and check for smooth rotation. Press brake lever and check front brake for efficiency.

MINOR MAINTENANCE TIPS

CAUT IONDo not press the brake lever when wheel is removed as this willresult in the brake pads coming out too far from the brake caliper.

Place a suitable spacer of 4 mm thickness, between the brakepads to avoid accidental compression of the brake lever.

Remove the spacer placedbetween the brake pads

Locate wheel speed sensor lugs onthe hub slot carefully.

Insert wheel spindle from right forkend.  

Position wheel speed sensor suchthat it is parallel to ground.

Hold spindle on right side, locatewasher and nut on spindle on leftside and tighten firmly.

Tighten pinch bolt on right fork end.

Failure to adhere to the procedure will cause a serious safety concernwhile riding the motorcycle and can cause a fatal accident.

REAR WHEEL REMOVAL Ensure the motorcycle is on a firm, flat

surface and the rear wheel is off theground.

Gently remove the brake hose along withits rubber grommets from the locatingclips on the swing arm.

Loosen rear axle nut on the right side andremove along with washer.

Pull out the wheel axle from the left side,taking care not to drop the wheel spacers.

Remove the brake caliper assembly fromthe slot in the swing arm and support itsuitably, to avoid damage to the brakehose.

MINOR MAINTENANCE TIPS Slide out the rear wheel from the swing arm, taking care not to

drop the spacers on the wheel hub.

CAUT IONDo not press the brake pedal when wheel is removed as this will resultin the brake pads coming out too far from the brake caliper.

MINOR MAINTENANCE TIPSREAR WHEEL REASSEMBLY Ensure the cush rubbers are in place

in the wheel hub.

Insert the wheel assembly between theswing arms and position the cushrubbers on the rear sprocket lugscorrectly.

Remove the spacer between the brakepads and locate the caliper such thatthe brake disc is between the brakepads.

Locate the caliper bracket slot on thelug in the swing arm.

Position the respective spacers on theleft and right side of the wheel hub.

CAUTION

Ensure the axle mounting hole in the swing arm, wheel hub andcaliper bracket are aligned.

Insert the wheel axle from the left side of the swing arm andgently tap it in,

Do not force the spindle through as it will cause damage to thethreaded end.

Ensure correct chaintension and rear wheelalignment with frontwheel by adjusting theadjusters on both left andright side of swing arm.

To adjust the chain tension and free play:

Loosen rear wheel spindle nut.

Loosen lock nuts of the chain adjuster on both ends of the swingarm.

Tighten / loosen the adjuster nut on left swing arm end, toreduce / increase chain tension.

25-30mm

DRIVE CHAIN TENSION (FREE PLAY 25-30MM) Measure the drive chain free play on

the top run of the chain.  The recommended free play is 25 to

30 mm

MINOR MAINTENANCE TIPS

CAUTION Please ensure the brake hose is correctly positioned on the clips,

without any twist, sharp kinks or damage as it will seriouslyaffect the performance of the rear brake.

Check rear brake for effectiveness and correct functioningbefore using the motorcycle.

Fix the brake hose pipe in swingarm clips properly.

Assemble washer and wheel axlenut on right side and tighten tocorrect torque.

Rotate wheel slowly and check chainfree play at the top run to be between25 - 30 mm.

REMOVAL OF BATTERY FROM THE MOTORCYCLE

BATTERY & MAINTENANCE The Motorcycle is provided with 12V

- 8 AH MF battery. The battery must be periodically

checked for corrosion freeterminals.

Remove side panel on the right sideby unscrewing 2 hex socket buttonhead screws.

Unlock (turn the key clockwise) andremove the pillion seat.

Remove front seat.

Disconnect both the terminal wires(negative first and positive nextrespectively).

Remove the battery carrier bracketby loosening the hex bolt.

Remove the battery.

WARNINGAlways disconnect the Black negative (-) battery cable first and thenthe Red positive (+) cable while removing the battery connections.

REASSEMBLY OF BATTERY ON MOTORCYCLE Position the battery in the battery carrier

such that the terminals are facing inside. Ensure ignition switch is in “OFF”

condition. Connect the red wire to the positive

terminal of the battery first. Next, connect the black wire to the

negative terminal of the battery.

CHANGING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTSHEADLAMP BULB DISMANTLING

Remove the 2 screws holding thehead lamp rim to the housing.

Gently pull out the head lamp rimalong with reflector assembly.

NOTEClean the wire terminals free of corrosion and keep the terminalscoated with petroleum jelly.

CAUTIONKeep the +ve and -ve cables firmly conneted to the respective batteryterminals. Failure to do so may result in damage to the motorcycleelectrical system.

Smear the terminals with petroleum jelly. (Do not use grease inthe battery terminals).

Place the terminal boot / cap properly. Refit the battery bracket. Refit right side panel. Reassemble Rider seat & Pillion seat.

Gently press the bulb holding clipand release it from the slot in thereflector

Remove the bulb form the reflector.

Locate the 3 lugs in the bulb correctlyin the reflector.

TAIL LAMP

The tail lamp has a LED lighting system. Inthe event of failure, the entire tail lampassembly should be replaced.

Contact an Authorized Royal Enfield Dealer/ Service Center to replace the same.

MINOR MAINTENANCE TIPS

Connect head lamp coupler on thebulb terminals correctly.

Locate the bulb holding clip overthe bulb and lock it in the slot in thereflector.

Locate the head lamp rim in thehousing correctly such that it locksin place and the 2 mounting holesof the rim are aligned with theholes in the housing.

Assemble the 2 screws and tightenfirmly. Put the protective rubber cap over

the bulb correctly such that thevent pipe is facing downwards.

TRAFFICATOR BULB REPLACEMENT Remove the screw from the

trafficator housing back side.

Remove outer lens.

Remove the fused bulb by pushingand turning in anticl ockwisedirection.

Position the new bulb inside the holder, ensuring that the pinsin the bulb, match with slots in the holder

Push the bulb and turn clockwise direction to lock the bulb inthe holder.

Refit the trafficator cover with reflector and tighten the screw.

FUSE & CARRIER The fuse carrier is located

under the rider seat.

Remove pillion seat & riderseat.

CAUTIONUse of any hard cleaning substances such as stain removers, water repellentcompounds, petroleum products, solvents and alcohol based material willseriously affect the windshield transparency.Scratches, cloudiness, cuts and abrasions on the windshield cannot bepolished or removed. The windshield must only be replaced if damaged.

PRECAUTIONS Wash motorcycle when the engine is cold.

Cover the silencer, tail pipe, carburetor, horn and controlswitches with suitable plastic bags and tie it firmly to preventwater entry.

Remove ignition key and seal key hole using adhesive tape.

Brush engine area with a solvent to remove dirt or grease.

Use low pressure jet of water to clean.

Never spray water with great force on head lamp, speedometer,flasher lights, front and rear wheel hubs, electrical connectionsand wires, control cables, carburetor, spark plug, battery etc.

Do not apply any corrosive solvent on painted surfaces orrubber parts.

Use luke warm water and mild detergent on the paintedcomponents to remove dirt, etc.

Rinse motorcycle thoroughly with plain water to remove thedetergent.

If possible, use compressed air and blow off water particlesfrom the hard to reach areas of the motorcycle, electricalconnections etc.

AFTER WASHING Ensure, the motorcycle is thoroughly dry by wiping with a clean

soft absorbent cloth or chamois leather. Remove all plastic bags and adhesive tapes. Lubricate control cables, pivot and rear chain with lube oil Polish the painted (except Stone Black Colour / Matt paint

finish) and plated surfaces using polishing wax. Start engine and allow to run at idling speed for a few minutes

to warm up engine. Drive the motorcycle slowly, applying both brakes

intermittently to dry up the water in the brake shoes.

In case your Motorcycle is not going to be used for a month or more,the following precautions should be taken.

Get the motorcycle serviced through a Royal Enfield AuthorisedDealer / Service Center.

Drain fuel tank, fuel line and carburetor.

Keep the fuel tap in closed position and spray engine oil insidethe fuel tank to prevent rusting.

Remove spark plug. Pour in about 25ml of clean engine oilthrough spark plug hole. Close the hole and crank engineseveral times and refit spark plug.

Clean rear chain thoroughly and apply a thin film of lube oil.

Remove battery from the motorcycle. Clean the terminals freeof corrosion and apply petroleum jelly to terminals.

Store the battery in a cool, dry and well ventilated place.

Cover the silencer with plastic bags to prevent moisture entry.Set the motorcycle on its center stand.

Apply anti rust solutions on all plated parts. Take care not toapply this solution on rubber or painted parts.

Store motorcycle in a clean covered area free of moisture anddust.

For re use after storage, it is preferable to get the motorcycleprepared through a Royal Enfield Authorised Dealer / ServiceCenter to ensure the motorcycle is restored to its peakoperating conditions.

TROUBLE SHOOTINGWe have listed below a few basic checks in case your motorcycle is not functioning. If in case the problem is not rectified after these checks, it is necessaryto get the motorcycle checked by a Royal Enfield Authorised Dealer / Service Center to rectify the problem and to ensure trouble free performance.

WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONSRoyal Enfield Motorcycles are manufactured by following best Quality practices in respect of the material and workmanship.Royal Enfield (RE) warrants its motorcycle to be free from manufacturing and material defect under normal use subject to followingconditions.1. RE will replace or repair defective part(s) at their Dealerships and Authorised Service Center, free of charge within a period of 24

months or 20,000 kms from the date of sale, whichever is earlier.2. The warranty is applicable to the first registered owner only.3. The warranty shall be applicable only if all the 4 free services & 1 paid service are availed in the respective period/kilometer ranges

as per the schedule in the owner’s manual from RE Authorised Dealer / Service Center.4. During the warranty period, RE’s obligations shall be limited to repairing/replacing part(s) of the motorcycle for free, only if the

part(s), on examination is deemed to have a manufacturing defect. Defective part(s) which have been replaced will become thesole property of RE.

5. Consumables like Oil, Oil Filter, Fuel etc used during warranty repair / replacement are not covered and chargeable to the customer.6. Claims on proprietary items like tyres, tubes, spark plug, battery etc. should be taken up with the respective manufacturer or their

authorised agents in the area directly by the customer. RE shall not be liable in any manner to replace them through their dealers.RE will, however, provide assistance in referring such claims on the respective manufacturer.

7. Warranty shall not apply to:(a) Normal ageing, deterioration or rusting of plated parts, paints coat, rubber parts, soft items, glass items, plastic parts etc.

sprocket kit, steering ball races, electrical equipment, wiring harness etc., which are subjected to normal wear and tear.(c ) Failures occurred due to use of non recommended grade lubricants, fuel or improper level.(d) Damages due to use of non-genuine parts, lack of proper maintenance, incorrect riding habits.(e) Parts damaged due to accidents, collision, abuse etc.(f ) Irregularities not recognised as affecting the quality or function of the motorcycle such as slight vibration, oil leakage, blue

discoloration of exhaust bent pipe/silencer/soft or hard shockabsorber etc.(g ) Defects arising from fitment of unauthorised or additional electrical loads.(h) Motorcycle serviced or repaired at unauthorised service centers.(i) Motorcycle used for competitions / racing / Stage Rallying etc.( j) Electrical component like bulbs, fuses etc. and electronic components failure due to repairs by arc welding.(k) Normal maintenance operations like adjustment of brakes, cleaning fuel system, engine tune-up and other such adjustments.(l) Oxidization of buffed/painted/powder coated items etc.

8. Use only Royal Enfield approved parts and accessories. Use of certain other manufacturer’s performance parts will void your newmotorcycle warranty.

9. RE reserves the right to finally decide on all warranty claims.10. RE reserves the right to make changes in design of the motorcycle without any obligation to install these changes on previously supplied

motorcycles.

EMISSION WARRANTYIn compliance with the provisions of Rule 115(2) of the Central Motor Motorcycle Rules, 1989, Royal Enfield certifies that the following warranty is applicable to thosecomponents liable to affect the emission of the gaseous pollutants in its range of motorcycles, in normal use to which it may be subjected to.This emission warranty comes into force from 01st July 2001 and is valid for a period of 30,000 Kms. or 36 months, whichever occurs earlier, from the date of saleto the first customer and is in addition to and parallel to the warranty policy, conditions and obligations laid down in the Owner’s Manual.Royal Enfield further warranty that if on examination by its Authorised Dealer / Service Center, the motorcycle fail to meet the specified emission standards, then theAuthorised Dealer / Service Center shall take necessary corrective measures and shall at its sole discretion, repair or replace free of charge such components of theemission control system to meet the required emission standards.The method/s of examination to determine the warranty conditions of the emission warranty related components will be at the sole discretion of Royal Enfield and/ or our Authorised Dealer / Service Center and results of such examination will be final and binding. If on examination the warranty conditions of the part/s is/are notestablished, Royal Enfield will have the right to charge all, or part of the cost of such examination to the customer in addition to the cost of the components.In case of acceptance of the component/s under Emission warranty, Royal Enfield will replace free of charge, the component/s as required. However, the consumableslike fuel, lubricants, solvents, etc shall be chargeable to the customer as per actuals.In case any of the components covered under emission warranty or the associated parts, are not independently replaceable. Royal Enfield will have the sole discretionto replace either the entire assembly or parts of the assembly, through suitable repairs.Royal Enfield reserves the right to carry out necessary consequential repairs to the motorcycle or replace any part, in addition to the repair or replacement of thecomponents covered under emission warranty, to establish compliance to in-use emission standards. Such repairs / replacements will be chargeable to the customer.All parts removed for replacement under warranty will become the property of Royal Enfield.Royal Enfield will not be responsible for the cost of transportation of the motorcycle to the nearest Authorised Dealer / Service Center OR for any loss due to nonavailability of the motorcycle during the period of examination and repairs by Royal Enfield and / or their Authorised Dealer / Service Center.Royal Enfield will not be responsible for any penalties that may be charged by statuatory authorities on account of failure to comply with the in-use emission standards.

EMISSION WARRANTYThat cost/s incurred to check emission of the motorcycle will have to be borne by the customer.Emission warranty will be applicable irrespective of the change of ownership of the motorcycle provided all the conditions as laid down in this document are met fromthe date of original sale of the motorcycle.THE WARRANTY SHALL APPLY IF THE CUSTOMER Observes all the important instructions and any other precautions listed in the owner’s manual. Under all circumstances uses lubricants and fuel as recommended by Royal Enfield. Regularly obtains and carries out maintenance in accordance with Royal Enfield guidelines and enters the details in the Log book. Immediately approaches the nearest RE Authorised Dealer / Service Center upon discovery of failure to comply with the IN-USE emission standard inspite of

having maintained and used the motorcycle in accordance with the instructions in the owner’s manual and having carried out such repairs and adjustmentsas may be required with a view to establish such compliance.

Produces the ‘Pollution Under Control’ certificate valid for the period immediately preceding the test during which the failure is discovered, the test having beencarried out either for obtaining a new certificate or pursuant upon being directed by an officer as referred to in sub rule (2) of rule 116 of the Central Motor VehiclesRules (CMVR).

Produces the owner’s manual and Log book for verification details. Produces receipts covering maintenance of the motorcycle is specified in the owner’s manual from the date of original purchase of the motorcycle. Produces valid certificate of Insurance and R T O Registration Certificate (R.C. Book).THE EMISSION WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY IF A valid “Pollution Under Control” certificate is not produced. The motorcycle is not serviced by RE Authorised Dealer / Service Center as per the service schedule described in the maintenance chart. The motorcycle has been subjected to abnormal use, abuse, neglect and improper maintenance or has met with an accident. Replacement parts not specified and approved by Royal Enfield have been used.

EMISSION WARRANTY The motorcycle, or parts thereof, has been altered, tampered with or modified or replaced in an unauthorised manner. The odometer is not functioning or the odometer and / or its reading has been changed / tampered with, so that the actual distance covered cannot be readily

determined. The motorcycle has been used for competitions, races, and rallies or for the purpose of establishing records. On examination by Royal Enfield or its Authorised Dealer / Service Center, if the motorcycle shows that any of the conditions stipulated in the Owner’s manual

with regard to use and maintenance have been violated. The motorcycle has been run on adulterated / leaded fuel or lubricant other than those specified by Royal Enfield in the Owner’s Manual or any other document

given to the customer at the time of sale of the motorcycle. The emission related components are tampered with. All service and parts related bills and vouchers incurred during the tenure of the emission warranty is not produced. All maintenance activities carried out on the motorcycle during the tenure of the emission warranty is not entered in the log book.TIPS TO BE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF LAW Always get your motorcycle checked to meet the emission regulations through an authorised emission checking center. Always carry a valid ‘Pollution Under Control’ certificate with you at all times during the validity of the emission warranty (30,000 Kms / 3 years from the date

of first sale)TIPS TO REDUCE POLLUTION Ensure that the periodical maintenance is carried out as stipulated in the owner’s manual through a Royal Enfield Authorised Dealer / Service Center. Use only Unleaded petrol (> 87 octane) from reputed fuel pumps. Ensure the fuel used is not adulterated. Use correct spark plug as recommended in the owner’s manual. Use lubricants as per recommendations given on grade / brand in the Owner’s Manual.
