SAFETY PRECAUTIONS1. All the precautions, in particular the safety ones, must be read with special attention,astheyprovideimportantinformation.

2. POWER SUPPLY FROM MAINSThemains voltage is sufficientlyhigh to involvea riskof electrocution; install andconnectthisproductbeforepluggingitin.Beforepoweringup,makesurethatalltheconnectionshavebeenmadecorrectlyandthevoltageofyourmainscorrespondstothevoltageshownontheratingplateontheunit,ifnot,pleasecontactyourRCFdealer.The metallic parts of the unit are earthed through the power cable.AnapparatuswithCLASSIconstructionshallbeconnectedtoamainssocketoutletwithaprotectiveearthingconnection.Protect thepower cable fromdamage;make sure it ispositioned inaway that itcannotbesteppedonorcrushedbyobjects.Topreventtheriskofelectricshock,neveropenthisproduct:therearenopartsinsidethattheuserneedstoaccess.

3.Makesurethatnoobjectsorliquidscangetintothisproduct,asthismaycauseashortcircuit.Thisapparatusshallnotbeexposedtodrippingorsplashing.Noobjectsfilledwithliquid,suchasvases,shallbeplacedonthisapparatus.Nonakedsources(suchaslightedcandles)shouldbeplacedonthisapparatus.

4.Neverattempttocarryoutanyoperations,modificationsorrepairsthatarenotexpresslydescribedinthismanual.Contactyourauthorizedservicecentreorqualifiedpersonnelshouldanyofthefollowingoccur:

Theproductdoesnotfunction(orfunctionsinananomalousway).Thepowercablehasbeendamaged.Objectsorliquidshavegotintheunit.Theproducthasbeensubjecttoaheavyimpact.

5.Ifthisproductisnotusedforalongperiod,disconnectthepowercable.

6. Ifthisproductbeginsemittinganystrangeodoursorsmoke,switch it off immediately and disconnect the power supply cable.

7.Donotconnectthisproducttoanyequipmentoraccessoriesnotforeseen.Forsuspendedinstallation,onlyusethededicatedanchoringpointsanddonottrytohangthisproductbyusingelementsthatareunsuitableornotspecificforthispurpose.Alsocheckthesuitabilityofthesupportsurfacetowhichtheproductisanchored(wall,ceiling,structure,etc.),andthecomponentsusedforattachment(screwanchors,screws,brackets not supplied by RCF etc.), which must guarantee the security of the system /installationover time,alsoconsidering, forexample, themechanicalvibrationsnormallygeneratedbytransducers.

8. RCF S.p.A.stronglyrecommendsthisproductisonlyinstalledbyprofessionalqualifiedinstallers(orspecialisedfirms)whocanensurecorrectinstallationandcertifyitaccordingtotheregulationsinforce.Theentireaudiosystemmustcomplywiththecurrentstandardsandregulationsregardingelectricalsystems.

9. Supports andtrolleysThe equipment should be only used on trolleys or supports, where necessary, that arerecommendedbythemanufacturer.Theequipment/support / trolleyassemblymustbemovedwithextremecaution.Sudden stops, excessive pushing force and uneven floors may cause the assembly tooverturn.

10. Therearenumerousmechanicalandelectricalfactorstobeconsideredwheninstallingaprofessionalaudiosystem(inadditiontothosewhicharestrictlyacoustic,suchassoundpressure,anglesofcoverage,frequencyresponse,etc.).

11. HearinglossExposure tohighsound levelscancausepermanenthearing loss.Theacousticpressurelevel that leadstohearing loss isdifferent frompersontopersonanddependsonthedurationofexposure.Topreventpotentiallydangerousexposuretohighlevelsofacousticpressure,anyonewhoisexposedtotheselevelsshoulduseadequateprotectiondevices.Whenatransducercapableofproducinghighsoundlevelsisbeingused,it isthereforenecessarytowearearplugsorprotectiveearphones.Seethemanualtechnicalspecificationstoknowthemaximumsoundpressurelevel.

DESCRIPTION

VSA 2050isamulti-amplifiedverticalsteerablearraywithtwentyamplifiersandtwentyfull-range3.5”loudspeakersthatrepresentsoneofthelatestRCFapplicationsintermsofdigitalaudiotechnology.

Theinternaldigitalsignalprocessorprocessestheaudiosignalsenttoeachsingleinternalloudspeakerinordertocontroltheoverallverticalacousticdispersion.

Itistheidealloudspeakerforindoorinstallationswherethecriticalacousticenvironmentisanissueandwhereamoderatevisualimpactisrequired,forinstance:housesofworship,airports,railwaystations,auditoriums,congresshalls,sporthalls,shoppingmalls,etc..

Unlikeatraditionalsoundcolumn,VSA2050calibrationiscarriedoutelectronicallyviatheRC-VSAremotecontrolthatistobepurchasedseparately,byspecifyingtheinstallationheightabovethefloorandthelisteningarea(orthemaximumdistancefromloudspeakerstoaudience).

Thesignalisfullyprocessedandamplifiedinthedigitaldomain,thanksalsoto6FPGAs(‘FieldProgrammableGateArray’)thatmanageallthedatainsidetheloudspeakersystem.

Thecircuitryismodulartogetmaximumreliabilityandeasyservicing.

TheVSA 2050includestwoindependentpowersupplyunits,controlledbyamicroprocessorforeitherAC(230/115V)orDC(24V)operation,togetfullback-upfacilitywhentheproductisintendedforemergencypurposes.Eachinternalcircuitismonitored(voltage,currentandtemperature).

VSA 2050meetsallrequirementsneededbysoundsystemsforemergencypurposes.

OneofthemostimportantfeatureoftheVSA2050digitalarrayisitssimpleconfiguration,thankstothededicatedRC-VSAinfraredremotecontrol.Inafewsteps,throughtheremotecontroltouch-screen,itispossibletotiltdownandshapetheacousticbeaminavirtualway,whilethecolumnloudspeakerisinstalledinaphysicalverticalposition.Thisconfigurabilitypermitstoaddresstheaudiosignalexactlytothelisteningarea,avoidingtosendacousticenergytoceilingsandemptyfloors,thusnotintroducingadditionalbadreflectionsthatwouldaffectspeechintelligibility,mainlyincriticalenvironmentswithhighreverberationtime.

Twenty‘classD’amplifiers(50Weach,withhighcapacitypowersupply)assurethebestpossiblecontrolanddynamics.

ThecabinethasfourLEDs(AC,DC,FAULTandPRIORITY)andprovidesdrycontacts(ofaninternalrelay)forremote‘fault’indication.

ThankstoasophisticatedalgorithmdevelopedbyRCF,thefocuscontrolisnotstrictlynecessaryasthebestpossibleresultisguaranteedoverallthecoveredlisteningareas.

Itispossibletosettheacousticalcoverage(tiltandbeam)accordingtoinstallationheightandthelisteningareatobeserved.

Twoaudioinputsareavailable,ofwhichonehasthepriorityfunction.VSA 2050canbeinstalledveryclosetothewall(tobeunobtrusive)thankstoitscompactsize,slimshapeandthesuppliedwallmountingaccessory.

VSA BR30/45optionalaccessoriesallowtoswivelthecabinetto±30°and±45°.

Connectionsareseparated:ACandDCpowersupplyatoneend,audiosignalsandinterfacesontheother.Theelectricalconnectionsareclearlylabelledandmadethroughscrewterminalsandothersuitableandeasy-to-wireconnectors.

Theloudspeakershallbewall-mountedthroughthetwoincludedbrackets(picture1).

To swivel iT wiTh a ± 30° or ±45 horizonTal angle, iT is necessary To purchase The opTional vsa Br30/45 accessories.

Minimuminstallationheight:theloudspeakerbottomshallbeatleast1mfromthefloor(suggestedheight:from1.5to3m).

The wood package lid can also Be used as drilling TemplaTe (picTure 2)!

Eachbracketshallbefixedtothewallby4dowelsfor5mmscrews(passingthroughthe4holes,seepicture3– A ).

Ifputtorecessedpipelines,thepowercables(230-115Vacand,separately,24Vdc)canpassthroughthebracketandtheloudspeakerholes(picture3– B ).

Puttheloudspeakeronthebrackethooksandfixitwiththesecurityscrews(picture3– C ),whichpreventthespeakermightaccidentallyslipoffandfall.
