Can you find 10 differences
between these two pictures?
How many daisies can you spot on this page? Write the number here
Next time you are outside take your
camera and take some close up pictures of
the flowers, you might even see some butterflies!
If you were a
butterfly what
colour would
you be?
Butterflies start their life as LEAF MUNCHING CATERPILLARS. After the caterpillar has shed it's skin a few times, it will form a protective layer called a CRYSALLIS (you might have heard of it being called a cocoon). Inside the crysallis, the caterpillar turns into a beautiful BUTTERFLY.
We all have different patterns, some of us have spots, some of us have patches and some have stripes. Give me some super spots and stripes, as I am feeling rather bare!

Tie it to a cane as it grows, so it doesn't fall over.
Colour in the
sunflowers petals
You can buy seeds from garden
centres or shops like Homebase and
Robert Dyas.
Plant the seeds in SPRING
Plant sunflowers somewhere they willl get LOTS of sun, by a wall or fence is best.
Pull up all the WEEDS and DIG the soil with a fork to get rid of all the lumpy bumpy bits. PLANT the seeds about 1cm deep into the ground and about 60cm apart so they have room to grow.
After you have sown the seeds give them a good WATERING. Shoots will appear after about a week!
They will grow VERY fast so make sure you water them every day!
Draw the rest of
this sunflower.
Don't forget the
cane to keep it
standing!
Sunflowers GROW 3-4 metres tall, so measure
them every week! They will flower from
July to September.
We LOVE sunflowers!

You could give your
creations funky googly eyes
Making your own playdoh is fantabulous! It is really easy to make, and you don’t have to buy the really expensive stuff from craft shops. If you need more you can just keep making it!
2 Cups of flour1 Cup of salt2 Teaspoons of Cream of Tartare2 Cups of Water1 Tablespoon of Vegetable oilA few drops of food colouring
REMEMBERMake sure you ask an adult to help you before using the
cooker!
Put all your ingredients into a saucepan, and cook over a medium heat.
Make sure you stir it all the time, until it goes stiff.
When it is stiff, tip it onto the work surface and let it cool down. This is important as it will be very hot!
Once it is cool, knead it until it is lovely and smooth. Now it is ready to use!
Cress seedsCompost
Plastic trayWaterPaper
Get your plastic tray and FILL it up with
compost. Drizzle some water over the top to make it nice and MOIST. Then scatter your seeds all over the surface. COVER the tray with paper until the seeds are 1 inch
high.
RECYCLE Use an old tub for
planting your cress in. This tub used to have
mushrooms in it.
Cress is because you can grow it ALL year round, and you can do it on the windowsill!!
After a few days the seeds will start to look like this! Lots of lovely sprouting shoots! Make
sure you keep adding water so it stays
moist.
Cress is YUMMY in sandwiches and salads. Try it with tuna and sweetcorn or
egg mayonnaise.
What is your fave sandwich?
In 1 -2 weeks the cress will be ready to eat! It should be about 2 inches high. So get making some
scrummy sandwiches!

Peacocks are very pretty birds with beautiful
feathers. Only the males are called PEACOCKS, the females
are called PEAHENS, and together they are PEAFOWL.
The peacocks make these huge displays with their feathers to attract
the females!
How many feathers does this peacock
have?
What are the FEMALE peafowl called?
What do the males display to attract the females?
