Why a Joint Action?

– Why? During discussions within the High Level Group(HLG) on Nutrition and Physical Activity

– What? Need for a forum for national bodies to cometogether to collectively analyse actions and to discussrecommendations on best practices for childhoodoverweight and obesity prevention.

– How: through the identification, selection and sharingof best practices and data within the countries involved,contributing to capacity building .

WP5 “Nutritional information monitoring and food reformulation prompting” ‐ Objectives

• Incite manufacturers to improve the nutritional quality oftheir products (fat, sugar, salt content), by creating a“virtuous circle” with the establishment of nutritionalquality cartographies, including with their own products’position.

• Contribute to improving the understanding on foodinformation by all families; help in determining in thedifferent EU MS the possible improvement of thenutritional composition of foods through the developmentof a new harmonized system for food and nutritionalinformation and monitoring.

WP3 Evaluation ‐ Objectives• To define, plan and carry out a systematic evaluation of the project,

including the level of accomplishment of the project objectives, as well asthe impact and expected effects and outcomes.The evaluation will assess the success of a project, in terms of:

• results – have the objectives been met? and• quality – do the results meet the needs of the stakeholders?

• The evaluation work package will help ensure• the implementation of the project according to plan (in cooperation

with the Coordinator),• the appropriate execution of its tasks,• the quality of deliverables• the assessment of both outcomes and impact of JANPA, with special

attention given to the evaluation of the efficiency, effectiveness andsustainability of the Joint Action itself.
