The Big 3
Three long lasting tag types produce most of the information currentlyused to meet the Fish and Wildlife Program management objectives:
• Coded Wire tags
• PIT tags
• Genetic information
In some important ways these three tag types can be viewed as incompetition to provide information to answer many management questions in the Fish and Wildlife Program.
