Introduction

St. Thomas Sleep Center is the only accredited institution for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Center's programs address conditions such as sleep apnea, snoring, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome. It offers polysomnography and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) titration services during daytime and overnight sleep studies in beautifully-appointed hotel-like surroundings. For a diagnostic sleep study, trained sleep technicians rig a patient’s body with sensors that monitor heart rate, oxygen levels, brain functions, and muscle movement with the most advanced Embla RemLogic technology.

In addition to providing CPAP and biphasic positive airway pressure services, St. Thomas Sleep Center serves as a resource for Multiple Sleep Latency Testing, a process that begins during the day and measures how long it takes for a patient to grow tired and eventually fall asleep.
