WE ARE IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION

The Bush Camp Somerset

Our base is ‘The Bush Camp’ in Somerset. When we say Outposts is based in a

beautiful rural location we really meant it. It’s an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,

the Quantock Hills . Unbelievable that we're only 10 minutes from the M5 yet totally

secluded.

Off-site locations

We use off-site locations for specialist activities. These are within two hours of

Lydeard Farm and the Bush Camp. Transport is provided by Outposts.

ACCOMMODATION

We can accommodate up to 130 at any one time.

Tents

At the Bush Camp we have tented accommodation for up to 70.

Bricks and mortar

For groups of up to 130 and those who prefer a roof over their heads we use a local

19th Century Gothic mansion with beautiful views onto the Quantock Hills.

CATERING

We pride ourselves on offering home-cooked, locally sourced and predominantly

organic food with beef reared on the farm where we are based. We cater for all kinds

of dietary requirements. Nothing is too much bother.

EVENINGS

Evenings are spent catching up around the campfire toasting marshmallows, doing

quizzes and venturing out on night walks. With masses of safe outside space the

emphasis is on getting away from modern technology.

STAFF AND QUALITY STAFF

All our instructors and facilitators are inducted and vetted by us. Their training and

qualifications are current and they have been DBS checked. With years worth of

experience working with young people on outdoor educational programmes, they

bring a wealth of knowledge and life experience to help inspire and encourage.

QUALITY AND SAFETY

Outposts maintains the highest levels of safety and ensure that we are fully compliant

with, and often exceed, industry standards expected of UK outdoor activity

companies. Outposts is certified as conforming with British Standard 8848:2014 and

AALA licensed and as such has all risk assessments and safe working practices

externally audited. Outposts has Public and Employer’s Liability to £10,000,000.

chat through what you are looking for initially and let you know a bit more about us

and what we do. You are very welcome to come and visit before committing. There is

always tea and plenty of biscuits!

CREATE A BESPOKE PACKAGE

The next step is for us to liaise on the finer details. We will then go away and create a

completely bespoke programme depending on your learning objectives, budget, age

group and time of year. There is no obligation at this stage.

CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING

Once you are happy, complete the booking form and we will secure the dates.

INCLUSIVE PROGRAMMES

We do everything we can to ensure our programmes are as inclusive as possible and

work for all levels of ability. We cater for special dietary requirements.
