Marketing Authentic Tourism ExperiencesDr Xavier Font

This course will make you see sustainability differently. We will help you stop writing jargon and start thinking about the aspects of sustainability that are relevant to your customer’s enjoyment – the real experiences they look for – and help you communicate just that! As part of the session we will work together to develop a plan for your company to prepare meaningful messages, relevant to the decisions your customer needs to make, that will help reassure them you are the right company for them.

The session will cover why your current sustainability messages make little impact on your customers and how integrating sustainability in your company strategy will give you more meaningful, customer-focused results. You’ll have time to debate, reflect on your current practices and draft your sustainability marketing and communication plan.

Presenter Profile: Dr Xavier Font is the director of Respondeco, the responsible tourism communication consultancy at Leeds Metropolitan University, and co-director of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism. He conducts training workshops and website reviews on how to use sustainability, authenticity and sense of place as a marketing opportunity for small firms.
